working in the UK/Ireland with a foreign degree / LLM experience

Hello :)
I am about to finish my law magister (master) in Austria and I would like to do an LLM in the UK/Ireland (don't know yet because of the Brexit- any thoughts about that?).

I wanted to know what possibilities I have, or what do I need to do, to be able to work in the legal field in the UK/Ireland (if I decide to stay there after the masters).

I also read about the GDL .. would you recommend this? (instead of the LLM? or both?)

I want to make the right choice for my future. And I want to include both possibilities (staying in UK/ireland or Austria) when deciding which step to take next.
Do you have experience with working in the UK/Ireland with foreign degrees?

Also do you have experience with the LLM´s there? about the entry requirements, the chance to get in .. and if its worth it ? also UK or Ireland?

Sorry for my confusing questions.. I just don't know where to start..
Thank you in advance :)

Kind regards,

Jennifer

chicken so...

The LLM typically isn't used to transition to other countries.

To qualify as a solicitor in the UK for instance the usual path is the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) --> Legal Practice Course (LPC). An LLM in a specific field of law might help you expand your legal knowledge / practice, but it really won't get you very far in terms of practicing law in a different country.
