Why no result from Cambridge?

I think I have been rejected by Cam because I have no any information so far. Camsis remains the same as half a year ago. No contact and no phone calls from Cambridge.
What happens? Anybody in the same situation as me?
I think I have already seen my destiny this Fall in Oxford...

I'm wondering if we are supposed to write an email if we want an update on our application? It seems that Camsis will not date up for a while... Any suggestions?

From what I know so far, it is not necessary to write for an update. Because as long as a decision is made----Offer/Rejection/Waiting list----they will immediately email you.
Not receiveing an email means no decision has been made yet. So I think there is no need to ask for the update.
No harm though. You may try.
I feel a smell of danger for my not hearing from Cambridge anything till now...

I thought that you will only be emailed if the decision is positive? Doesn't it say so on their website?
I think I will wait till april... and then ask for an update
Good luck to you and all others!

I'm in the same situation. Congrats to all those who have offers.
Namrepus I think that you're right--the longer we have no news, the lesser our chances. I doubt they would save the best till last. ;-) I hope we're not still waiting around three weeks today.
By the way Namrepus, I think it's brilliant that you've a place secured at Oxford.
All the best and good luck to everyone.

Thank you Coco2008.
To everybody:
Is it true that Cambridge only emails successful candidates?
And it means rejection will only be seen via Camsis?

To everybody:
Is it true that Cambridge only emails successful candidates?
And it means rejection will only be seen via Camsis?
As I understand it mate, and I may be wrong, I think both successful and unsuccessful applicants get some form of non-CamSIS acknowledgement of their unsuccessful status.
Taken from Applications Decisions Process page:
"If your application is unsuccessful, you can find out about this decision first on your online self-service page. You will also receive e-mail confirmation from the Board of Graduate Studies. The Law Faculty does not e-mail unsuccessful applicants."
So, although in the event of being unsuccessful the Law Faculty itself remains silent, the BGS will nevertheless inform those unlucky applicants at some point. Whether we assume this is before or after a mass-CamSIS rejection, who knows.

Thank you. This even pushes me further to deem my not receiving anything yet as rejection...
Anyway. Like you said, who knows...
Good luck to you as well!!

I have yet to receive any decision on my application either. I did send an email which had an amendment to my application last week, and was told my application would go to committee this week. However, someone else on this message board said that if you haven't received admission yet, and your Camsis is not updated, then you're probably unsuccessful. I emailed them again finding out if this is true, and I'll keep you all posted. I'm obviously hoping that's not the case, and that my application is just going back to committee... On a side-note, I have no idea why a decision is taking this long as I applied back in November. I'm hoping that its because I've been accepted by the university and they are trying to place me at a college, but I may just be being hopeful...

Thanks Namrepus.
By the way, I didn't mean to suggest that that quote implied near-certain rejection to those who like myself, Namrepus and Jrmorton are presently waiting to even hear any news. I just wanted to highlight that, as I understood it and with CamSIS aside, all applicants (including those unsuccessful ones) would receive an email confirming their status.
Good luck.

I don't think that your "just being hopeful", no way. If you've been told that sometime within this week your application will be considered by the Committee, then, in my view, you've every right to be positive about it. I hope that it works out for you.

Don't worry. I don't think you implied anything negative. I was just trying to analyse what is going on there. But by now we have not hear any report about In Waiting List, so that may be another reason. They may be seperating candidates from "Rejection" and "Waiting List".
Let's see if there is still any offer(s) coming out. I saw from one of my home country Forums some reports of Cambridge LLM offers on 22nd of Mar and 23rd of Mar.
So for me and those who are still waiting for Cam actually no news is good news.

Also awaiting a decision from Cambridge. Emailed Ms. Wade a couple of days ago and nothing in response as of now.
It is a bit weird for me to see that some of us (including me) have already been accepted by Oxford but Cambridge still keeps silence. When I was applying to Oxbridge, everybody kept telling me that it was much easier to get admitted by Cambridge then by Oxford (the chances are like 3:1).
At this thread, we can see a different situation when people accepted by Oxford do not timely receive anything from Cambridge. Could anybody comment on that???

Today I cannot get into "application status" page from the home page of Camsis. It continues for maybe half an hour. And now I can get in: the status is still "applicant".
