Swansea gave me 3000 pounds scholarship, but I think I need some time to learn more about the career prospect
of international maritime law.
I am a Chinese. As I know, an llm graduate can hardly find a job in UK or Commonwealth countries, let alone, maritime law has not a bid job market. If come back to China after my
graduation, I may have to face fierce competition from thousands of llm graduated from us and uk top law schools
I would be very gateful if anyone may offer informations relevant to my concern.

Napoleon ,
It isnt necessary to work in a law office after your graduation . There are many good prospectives as a broker , claim handler or in a P&I club (marine insurance) , even though in a bank in the marine insurance department . With the llm in maritime law we could obtain a lot of knowledge and you can focus on whatever is more interesting for you .
In Greece , it is easy to find a job as broker or claim handler , i think that in china the workplace variety is bigger than here .

Dear ANGIEGR
Thank you for your kind recommendations.
I learned from my friend who had finished her llm in maritime law that navigation experience is indispensable for study and practice of field, and it doesn't help much if you only read books and receive lectures.
I am presently served as an international trader who has never worked on ships.
What's your perspective?

Dear Napoleon
I do not think that navigation experience is indispensable for attending an LLM in maritime Law. The LLM in maritime law deals with the legal issues arising out of the carriage of goods, marine insurance etc... I did a lot of marime subjects in my LLM (carriage, marine insurance) without having any experience on the ships and I had no trouble following the lectures and studying afterwards.
Hope I have helped you
