I am in the same position..

I contacted the UCL Accommodation Admin and the reply was that I would have a mere 23-25% chance of getting a place managed by UCL.

Hence, we might as well start searching for a place ourselves. Besides, the procedure to apply for Uni Accommodation will take time and that is what I'm running out of now, considering the fact that UCL has yet to provide me with Visa Letter.

I do agree, I even have't apply for UCL accommodation. However my problem is that I have never been to London, so I have no idea what is good/bad locations, what is far/close etc.

I've never been to London too. Perhaps you can try using GoogleMaps to check out the distance once you're interested in a place.

i am doing pre-sessional in UCL at the moment. there are several E.U. students are waiting for accommodation also. Somewhere near to UCL is quite expensive. It had better to find some place between zone 1 and zone 2.

I applied for university accommodation on April so I hope I have higher chances than that!

Besides, don't quote me, because they probably told me that as I have not applied when I asked about the accommodation.

There are blaken its just that they are waiting for university accommodation reply to see if they got a place or not and then they decide to get a flat,,i actually talk on facebook with a few llm students that are contacting some students in case they dont get a place in university halls,,,i will keep u informed or simply go to facebook and join one of the manyyy ucl 2009/2010 groups hehe
