Hi everyone,
I am currently an LLM Public Law candidate at UCL.
It took me and some friends about 3 months to hear back from LLM Admissions.
It is better to apply earlier for a few reasons, most notable being: (a) knowing the result sooner and having longer to plan; (b) results take a long time; and (c) it will likely be less competitive earlier on, as opposed to fighting for a final few spaces nearer the deadline.
That said, do not feel you need to rush your application. You still have months to apply, and any applications received in time will be considered. Make it as good as you can. It is all about finding this balance. My friend left it until the deadline and still received an offer.
Please do NOT email them asking for updates unless it has been more than 3 months as it does delay everything. They have a lot of applicants and only a very small team.
If anyone has any questions, reply to this comment and I will try and get back to you asap.

I applied in October and still no news, they said not to contact them unless it has been 10 working weeks so I'm guessing they will get back to us mid-january

I received an email from UCL stating that I need to upload another letter of recommendation and that my application will not be considered until I do so (my reference has already upload his letter). I understand that only one letter of recommendation is required and not two. According to the portico portal my application status is "Application Received - Awaiting references".
Has anyone else had this problem?

I applied beginning of November and haven't heard back. I did receive an automatic email saying that it would take a while though.
