The 2012 Cambridge Thread

My Camsis status has finally changed to "Conditional Offer Made"! The College Membership section says "Seeking College Membership" now.

Fine, same here! Glad to know there are only formal conditions attached to it.

Now the suspense about the outcome of college choices gets almost unbearable...

Hi Guys,

I have read with keen interest and observed the anxiety built over the past few weeks by reason of non-receipt of either offer letters or rejection. I therefore feel it is necessary to say sometime.

As someone who has had an experience, twice on this admission circle (admitted last year and this year too), take it from me that Cambridge will continue to dispatch offers until June/July 2012. I got mine sometime in late May 2011, although I couldnt make due to funding challenges.

So please, except you have recieved a rejection letter, keep the hope alive.

Regards.

thanks for the info, Kuoriver! how did that come about with your application last year? did you ever find out why it took them so long? were you waitlisted, was it a borderline application, or documents missing?
and what's your situation this year then?

Hey guys
I was just accepted at Peterhouse (my first choice) according to Camsis - haven't heard directly from the college yet. Though if they're sending stuff by post, it will take a good long while to get to me.
Anyone else heard from colleges?
Best wishes to those still waiting on a place :)

Hi rishavban,

It has been two weeks since I received the email from Ms Wade. My status on Camsis is still set to ''under consideration'', and no sign of the formal offer yet. At this point, I say no worries, but I just thought I would let you guys know.

Thanks Myxomatosis for the information :-) We have nothing else rather than wait for the formal offer to come our way!!

Does anyone know about the condition that transcripts should be sent to the Board by the University itself? I have submitted my application in paper and my original transcripts in a signed letter. I am wondering if this is a requirement for all, or they put it wrong on my CamSis account. Ms Wade did not answer my e-mail yet. Many thanks in advance:)

did anyone already receive a formal rejection via e-mail or on camsys?
april the 15th is approching fast, although judging from the threads of previous years it's not a real deadline and offers are made after this day.

also, are there any austrians who applied and got an offer (or rejection)?

Perhaps you could give Ms Wade a call. I did so myself about two weeks ago.

Believe the Committee is still considering quite some applications at this time. Good Luck!

I see. She indicated to me in an email that it may take even longer than until mid-April.

May I ask where you're from? I'm Swiss.

I'm from HK.

It's likely the Committee holds a meeting only once a week. We could imagine how quickly decisions can be made as, taking also into account the time this whole admissions business has taken, I would expect they do 'examine' our applications pretty closely...

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

I spoke to Ms Wade over the phone about 2 weeks ago too. She did say that the Committee was still considering many applications, including mine. I asked if it was because i am under the "waiting list" to which she said no and that they have yet to make offers to some places available. But again, that was 2 weeks ago. Good luck to all of us still waiting!
