Status on CamSYS has finally changed to "Conditional Offer Made". It lives! :-)

Are you able to see your conditions on CamSys now? Or did you get any other documentation of the formal offer yet, by (e-)mail for example? And when did you get your offer again? Mine is dated 2/21 but still no change on CamSys...

Hey!

I got the admission e-mail from Ms. Wade on the 20 February 2012 and the status has changed between Friday morning and Sunday night. I now can see the conditions of my offers, the financial stuff (although it just says that my scholarship application is complete, but "N/A" where the decision should be), print out cover letters, accept/decline my offer, etc.

... and an hour ago I got the e-mail from the Graduate Board confirming the offer...

So, if they follow a chronological order, we should be close to our official offer as well....

I phoned Ms Wade this morning (UK time) to see whether a decision had been reached on my application. She was able to check immediately on their system and inform me over the phone that a decision indeed had been reached, and that I had been unsuccessful.

It seems there have been rejections decisions made, but that they have not released them yet. I just thought anyone waiting may wish to know.

Very disappointed, but best of luck all still waiting.

sorry for you, I'm sure you have great alternative options!

did she indicate that the process is over generally and everyone that has not heard was unsuccessful - or is that rather your impression?

I do have a great alternative option, but I did have my heart set on Cambridge.

Ms Wade did not indicate that the process was over generally; she only checked the status of my application.

Personally, I suspect that they factor in the number of rejections in how many offers they make, rather than having a wait list where they make another offer every time someone rejects them. But I could be wrong, I don't know.

Certainly from previous years people seemed to be receiving offers in April. But that may be because they are so slow in getting through the applications, rather than from any topping up of applicants due to rejections.

Probably the most useful thing anyone could now ask them, for those still waiting, is whether there is a "wait list".

My status changed to
"Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate Studies"
Status: The degree committee is satisfied with your application. However, your offer has not yet been approved.

I really don't understand...

It really depends on what you want to do next year : work hard and experience the tutorial method? Oxford BCL
Just learn and enjoy? Cam LLM

Thank you for your response. With regard to Course, faculty, reputation and future prospects, you would rate both equally???

It seems that it depends on the courses : Oxford is better in jurisprudence, and Cambridge in international law, or something like that...

Otherwise they are pretty the same. You really don't have any preference???

Hi. I also got the same email from Ms Wade but the BGS seems not to have updated my status. Does anyone here got a response for the MCL? Tks
