I think there's no reason to worry. Unless your application is indeed otherwise incomplete. What does Camsis indicate in your 'documents you need to send us' section?

If you look further back, and also at the post just before yours, you'll see that many have only had their status changed in the last couple of days. The degree committee proceeds the application in batches, I think you can be confident that they'll deal with yours soon as well. But if you really think, that there's a document missing, that they didn't receive it or otherwise, you can always call them..

Thanks. The fact that some people had their status changed this week is reassuring, indeed. However:

Camsis indicate that the ''personal reference'' is still due. However, this reference was only needed for applicants to the Gates Scholarship (and I did not check that box in my application form). I even kept the e-mail from the Admissions clerk saying ''You need only supply a personal reference if you are applying for Gates funding.''!

The system does not seem to make any difference, however, since it's been labeled as ''missing'' from the start.

My fear is that the system automatically labels my application as ''incomplete'' because of this personal reference, and that it never goes to the department for consideration...

Then call, or send an email. It will certainly not hamper your chances. However, I predict that your status will change within a week or two.

I too had a document - the language test - 'missing', and still have, actually.

And has your status changed from ''awaiting consideration'' to ''under consideration''? Does your self-service account mention ''A decision on your application might be pending or we might be waiting for your supporting documents'' on the top of the page of your application?

Thanks for the info!

Called them but they won't answer. As for e-mails, they send an auto-reply saying that they experience a large volume of e-mails and that they cannot reply individually.

i distantly remember that somewhere it said it would not harm your application if the language test is indicated as missing.

i suppose this applies for the third reference as well, but can understand your worries...

Camsis:
If English is not your first language, or if you have not studied in an English-speaking country for at least three years, graduating at the latest two years before the start of your course, you must provide either an IELTS test score report or a TOEFL test score report.

You only need to send a report if you have already taken one of these tests. If you have not yet taken a test, you do not need to do so before uploading your other materials, but if you are made an offer and you have not already sent us a copy of your results, one of the conditions of admission will be that you pass either an IELTS or a TOEFL test at the required level.

Hey there Myxomatosis (and anyone else with the same trouble)
I created an account just to tell you not to worry. I'm in exactly the same situation - didn't apply for Gates, so have personal reference listed as a "document you need to send us".
My application, is, however "under consideration by degree committee" and I know that they are definitely actively considering it because I have an email from them asking for a final transcript (final transcript was only available to me after the 2 December deadline). I've also been slightly more successful in my contact with the department, and have confirmation from them that my application is complete.
So please, don't worry - they seem to update statuses in chunks, and they probably just haven't got around to yours yet. They will definitely consider it.
Very best of luck

I tried to quote you above but I failed miserably. Sorry! Try again :)

Hey guys,

Problem here.

Back in November, I was told by the Graduate Admissions Office that I only needed a personal reference (in addition to the two references) if I was applying for a Gates Scholarship. Since I was not applying for this scholarship, I did not provide a personal reference.

Right now, my status on Camsis is still «Awaiting Consideration by Department», and the personal reference is still indicated in the ''Documents you need to send us'' section.

As an explanation for my status, Camsis says that ''A decision on your application might be pending or we might be waiting for your supporting documents.''.

What should I do? They don't seem to consider my application until I send them with a document that I don't need to send them. Or is it just normal, and my status will eventually switch to ''under consideration?''.

Getting worried right now!

Thanks,

Thanks Dubie!

Actually, I just got an e-mail from them saying exactly the same. They removed the ''Personal Reference'' mention in my account though.

Thank you all for the replies and best of luck!

I had EXACTLY the same situations and EXACTLY the same worries as you have! But, as Dubie has said, don't worry. My status has also changed to "under consideration..." and Camsis is still warning me to send the personal reference as a a document that is missing. But, as we all know, this is required only for those applying for a Gates Scholarship, which is not our case.

Good luck!

That's right. Except I anticipate some news starting from the end of Feb, as indicated by last year's threads. Let's wait and wishing all best of luck!

Thanks!

I did, and I believe many people in this thread did the same.

BTW, there is already a thread for BCL/Mjur this year.
