Is there anyone who studies or planning to study this year at Aberdeen?
I do not know what to do with my accomodation? Whether to go to University's accomodation or rent a flat?
Those who have gottem some ideas and suggestions are Welcomed!

Hello Jmimik,
The reantal market here is insane! The University accomodation is far away from campus and expensive (I'm in Hillhead, which is a 20 minute walk from campus and I pay 99 pounds a week and that only gives me my room and shared kitchen/bathrooms which I share with 4 other guys)!!! As expensive as my place is, I know I was lucky to get it. The University accomodation fills up very fast! Other private options are cheaper, but they are hard to find--especially when you are not here to inspect. While living in residence is not the best option, unless you have someone on site to check out places for you, I think you might want to bite the bullet and and sign the University lease agreement--assuming you can get one to sign!!

Hello my friend,
I've got my CAS, and going to apply for accomodation. I would like to ask you, is it possible to rent a room at the University for 2-3 months? Do you know people who rent a flat?
I will appreciate your reply.

The short answer is that I am not sure. I know the University does rent out flats in the summer on a short-term basis, but I would have my doubts they would do so during the school year due to the high demand. From the University's perspective, why would they do a short lease when they can easily get a long-term one?
I have a few friends who started with me in January who now rent flats. They initially rented rooms in one of the residences, and then decided they couldn't handle it and found their own places. Unfortunately, however, the University would not let them out of their leases and they still had to pay (they were able to sub-lease their rooms at a reduced rate, and they made up the difference).
