Queen Mary vs Nottingham

Thanks Summerfield :) Where are u heading to?

@lawstudent2010,

Oh.. Thats great ! But do they let u choose a specialisation once you're admitted to the General LL.M. ? What subjects are u keen on studying?

No, I havent decided on accommodation yet. The University of Nottingham has arranged a pre departure event here today. They'll be making presentations and answering queries.. I should find out more I guess. What about you?

Hi mohile.anuja,
According to my enquiry it is possible to choose a specialisation during the first weeks of the programme. Because I haven't a law degree, however, I will not be able to choose the commercial and maritime specialisms. But that doesn't matter to me much because I'd like to study a mixture of international public and private law. So I'm considering either to stay with the general LLM or to switch to the 'international law' specialism. As for accomodation, I've reserved a room at Broadgate Park.

Kind regards,
lawstudent2010

Hi! I've been admitted to King's College London. My major is financial law and it is the place to be for this kind of specialization.
You know, it is very great to see people here eventually making their choices and preparing for their LLMs.
Good luck at Nottingham!

Oh that's good to know. Yes, I guess Broadgate Park and Melton Hall are the two halls which are closest to campus.. Will apply for accommodation soon. Got to pay the tuition fee deposit first. Has a room been allotted to u already?

They notified me that a room has been allocated to me and I've just paid the deposit. But I would advise you not to wait for too long with the booking because some types of rooms are already fully booked at Broadgate; don't how it is with other halls. All the best with your preparations - hope to see you on campus in September.
