Hi pdhad! I've applied for comp&comm law in QMUL on last month but still have not heard any decision until now.

Hi ictlawninja!
Me too. I applied in the first week of March
I did hear back from QMUL for one document I forgot to submit in the second week - which I sent immediately.
But waiting patiently now :)
I guess it takes a while. The program starts in May and we need to make a payment 3 weeks in advance (I think), so hopefully we will hear back in the next 10 days or so.
Getting anxious :)
Best of luck to you on an offer

May? I thought the program will start in Sept? Hopefully you're right and they will give us the decision immediately because I'm also getting anxious day by day! :D
Thanks, hope both of us will hear the offer in no time :) *amen
Btw did you apply to another school? I applied to strathclyde too, but as for QMUL, I also haven't heard any news from strathclyde. Fortunately I already got tilburg (ned) that reduce a little bit of my worries.

ict - yes I think they have a May entry. That is what I requested on the form. It is their summer session. I think there are three session, Summer, Fall, Winter/Spring (or something like that) :)
bigdave - thanks. That means at least 4-6 weeks I assume. Makes sense.
Appreciate your help

Update: Just had a quick chat with QMUL
They have a lot of applications this year and stated that responses will take 6-8 weeks on average
Very helpful and courteous staff by the way

the question is does it take longer for a yes then a no, or is it just a flat time period
just something to think about
just something to think about

ICTlawninja, no problemo
That's a good point bigdave.
The girl I talked to said that it takes 6-8 weeks on average for 'a response'. It takes that long due to the high volume of applications for LLM and that there are only 3 administrators managing the data for the LLM program. I think they manage the upfront administration, gathering proper docs, ensuring that basic credentials are met, etc - but the approval comes from someone higher - like a program director.
My guess (and a big one at that) is that if you 'don't' meet the basic criteria you will get a rejection sooner. If you 'do' meet the basic criteria you will get an offer or rejection (based on the discretion of the director, somewhere between 6-8 weeks.
Thanks

i also think it will slow down (as in take longer to deal with the applications) as the course is filled up and they look for "better" applicants to fill up the remaining slots

It took two months for me to get an offer from QML. But they want some additional documents, then it may take longer...

Hey!
I applied on 31st of January...
I didn`t hear anything back than an acknowledgement e-mail.. Applied on the same day to UCL and KCL, they offered me a place 2 weeks ago...
So they are even faster than QMUL..
Anyway, I wont go now to QMUL, but maybe this helps..
greez

Hi Clemens28
2 Months+ is quite long.
Then again, you've decided on UCL/KCL so that is excellent
For those who are waiting that long, you might want to give them a quick call. Sometimes people loose response mails (requests for docs etc) due to spam filtering.
I talked with QMUL today and my admin said I should hear back by end of this week or early next week. Total time has been about a month for me so far.
Cheers

I was wondering if anyone has the phone number for the admissions office? If so, could you please provide it here? I've looked all over their website and have only found email addresses and I would rather chat with them in person.
Thanks!
Thanks!

lawgrad, yes
Tel: 020 7882 7462
I spoken to either Jenny or Sonia
Thx
PS: If you are dialing from outside the UK - you'd have to punch in something like 011 44 20 7882 7462

Yes 6-8 weeks is the time. I got rejected from both LSE and KCL and accepted by QMUL. Awaiting UCL from Mid February. However they have mailed me saying that I would get a response either way by the end of this month.
I have already decided that I would go to QMUL if UCL rejects me. I intend to do corporate and commercial law. Apparently, QMUL is supposed to be good in that area compared to the other universities in London. If anybody finds out otherwise please let me know, so that I can decide well if I get the offer from UCL too.
In the meantime, anybody else out there who intends to go to QMUL?

Hello,
I have just applied for the MSc Law and Finance at QMUL. Is the avarage response time better in comparison with the LLM programme ?
The deadline for the scholarship is the 14 May, 2010. I hope I didn't apply to late.
I will certainly decide to go to QMUL MSc Law and Finance over King's, UCL and LSE because a financial background is a strong asset.
