im currently pursuing my BA LLB from india,bangalore..although i am one of the batch toppers,i have never taken active interest in mooting or publications.i just wanted to know whether,publications/moots are essential on ones curriculum vitae to secure a place in say LSE,KINGS,QUEEN MARY or UCL.

I've never participated in any mooting and I haven't got anything published... but I did get offers from UCL, Kings and Queen Mary... therefore I don't think these things are essential at least for these three universities... LSE's turned me down so I cant really say anything about that

I don't have any publications or moot courting, either, and I got into Oxbridge. I'd say that even if it could help, it's not a prerequisite by any means.

Well, if Ryker got into Oxbridge (congratulations, by the way) without mooting and publications, Id definitely say those things arent pre-requisites. Of course, they do look good on the application, but thats not enough to rule you out or get you in

dare.devil, my situation was like ryder's: no publications or mooting and got into oxbridge (was vice-editor of our uni law journal for a year, but i definitely don't think that was a deciding factor!!). i also got an offer from ucl (didnt try for kcl, qmu or lse so can't comment!)

ps like beicon and ryder, i think these things do look good (and may help sway a decision in ur favour) but are not pre-requisites!
