Pre-Master in UK

siMITci

Hello my friends;
I'm intern lawyer in Turkey. I want to ask a question abour pre-master that I want to know, which require for me or not.

My bachelor degree is too low, that is not enough to offer from most of universities.Does Pre-master's aim is to increase my gpa or increase my english ability and skills?

If I attend pre-llm course, can it facilitate to LLM master for me?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Aberdeen Uni offers Pre-LLM - http://www.abdn.ac.uk/languagecentre/index.php?id=21&top=3

To answer your question whether your GPA or English skill would be improved after doing Pre-LLM, I would simply say that your GPA can't and will never improve before or after joining such course. Given that the Pre-LLM deals with language barrier that is mostly faced by the non-native students who want to acquire degrees from the UK. Thus, your English ability can and will be improved upon your completion of the course. Since you are assessed integrally to meet the Law School's requirement, if not you might have to re-sit for another IELTS or TOEFL. To make it short, I would have to say that the Pre-LLM course is given to the students who have been offered conditionally from the Law School. Moreover, some students (esp. non-native) who have offered unconditionally sometimes undertake such course as well. Even though, the name main purpose of Pre-LLM is to upgrade the students English ability, this course enables students to study more legal English. Based on my experienced, I studied Tort Law, Company and Contract Law during my 12 weeks Pre-LLM.

Hence, all you have to do is probably apply to the Law School first. As soon as you are admitted conditionally, then you can apply for the Pre-LLM course. Here is the link for FAQ: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/law/graduate/gradfaq.shtml
