Does anybody have an idea when Oxford will have the BCL decisions?

I am also waiting. I applied for the DPhil and have heard nothing. Meanwhile I have heard back from Cambridge and they are pressuring me for an answer. Ek.

The application form says the department makes decisions by the 16th of March. I just read last year's blog regarding Ox acceptances and there was some discussion that letters were received by UK residents by the 20th of March (their decisions were due on the 17th). I'm in Australia though, so am wondering how long notification will take. Apparently someone also emailed the grad admissions office and they informed them of the status of their application by email.

I would suggest that for overseas students its best to either call the Law Faculty on the 16th or send them an email.
Last year, I got to know of my acceptance by email 2 weeks before the offer letter reached India. Unless you send an email asking for the decision with your full name, date of birth and the course you have applied for, they wont respond. Wasnt allowed a deferral and so i have applied again this year.

Thanks anups.

Are you planning to email them again this year? On the 16th? I don't want to annoy the admissions office but I don't want to wait an extra two weeks either to receive the letter. Did you email the admissions office or the faculty of law?

I called the Admissions Office last year and they told me to mail the Law Faculty to get the decision.

I mailed the Law Faculty beginning of this week and they said the decisions should be made by the 16th as stated in the Guidance Notes. But then, you can never be sure about these things.

I dont think I can resist the temptation to know the decision after tomorrow. And I am sure they are professional enough to understand our predicament ...dont think they will deny you an offer just because you mail them.

I haven't heard anything. If they met today I reckon we won't hear until next week. I am sure after the faculty meeting they all went for some sherry at one of the don's lodgings and noone was in any state to email the poor BCL applicants with their decisions.

I emailed the graduate admissions office and the law faculty on Friday 16th (at about 5am Oxford time!) and the graduate admissions office got back to me and said they couldn't let people know results via email but if it was urgent to ring the faculty. I am yet to receive an email response from the faculty and would be interested to know if anyone else has had better luck. As I'm in Australia, I don't want to wait 2 weeks to find out by post!

I applied for the BCL a couple of years back and found out via email.
I am also waiting to hear back from Oxford as I have applied for the DPhil. I emailed and they said they have forwarded my question on and I would find out in due course.
Meanwhile I have heard back from Cambridge and it is looking more and more appealing the longer Oxford delays.
I would be interested to know if anyone has any views on the relative merits of the doctoral programmes at Cambridge and Oxford. I hear Oxford is "snotty" but with a better quality programme but it is hard to know whether that is actually true.
