I know that there are some of us who have not heard from Cambridge. Would it be inappropriate to now contact Cambridge to let them know of my BCL offer and ask for the outcome of my application? I will probably opt for the BCL but I don't want to respond without considering all options and, if I receive an offer from Cambridge, I'd like to reject it so that my spot may be offered to someone else. Anyone else in this situation?

Also, has anyone started a Facebook group? It'd be nice to get acquainted with each other before September.

Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting, I'm sure the remainder of the offers are on their way!

Member of the Cambridge group as well.. When I ultimately decide on which I will go, I will leave one of them :)

You can e-mail and ask to the admin officer who sent the admission e-mail. I believe we will receive a postal mail which will describe this process but if this does not happen, we still have more than one month to learn.

I simply answered Marianne that I accept offer and she answered "Many thanks":) So, you should simply answer to the e-mail which notified you about your acceptance and that will work:)

Does any of you know when we will receive college offers? Do we need to first confirm our acceptance of the offer?

By the way; I sent an acceptance e-mail to Marianne Biese, and I guess this is sufficient. Nevertheless I also wrote a signed letter where I solemnly accepted their offer, and sent it with my transcript and IELTS-certificate. Most probably not necessery, but I had to send them a letter anyway.

It absolutely does. There will be no rhyme or reason to the way/time that the different colleges announce decisions - some will be early, some late - and you should not let this panic you.

It definitely depends. I received an offer from my college earlier today.

Hey Mockingbird, did you receive this offer by email or post?

Did someone receive information about scholarships (from department for example)? I am so anxious about receiving it! I've been last week at the Law Faculty and saw Marianne Biese, but she knows nothing about scholarships... She said just to wait:(

Hi guys...

This is really for successful UK applicants...

As you may know, undergraduate students at Oxford take all their main exams at the end of their final year. Their degree class is thus determined by these 'finals'. (Note here that my condition is 'attaining a first in finals'.)

However, for those of us from other unis, this condition appears slightly odd - as you will all know, it is possible at many unis to get a first class degree without getting a first in your last year. (i.e. if you get very high second year results). So does the condition mean a first class degree (as I assumed when applying) or does it mean a first class result in your final year alone (average of 70)?

So my question...assuming others have the same condition, is anyone worried that they will be forced to get a first in their final year (i.e. average of 70) as opposed to just getting a first overall? To give you an example, my uni has a 'dominant quality' method (alongside the normal arithmetic average rules) which means that if you get 4 modules at a 1st and none below 2.2 you get a first overall. Thus, based on last year's results I could simply get a 2.2 this year and get a first overall...but I'm worried that it won't meet the 'attaining a first in finals' condition...

I'd love to hear your thoughts...

Professor Edelman has been appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. He commences in July 2011 so I assume this means that he will not be teaching at Oxford (which may mean that Commercial Remedies will not be offered again).

I've received a letter from the colleges today (dated 11 April) - I am given a place at Keble College. I'm not familiar with the Oxbridge college system - is this a nice allocation? I picked Magdalen on my application form but apparently I wasn't one of their acceptees.
