Here we go. Should start coming within a week if last year's schedule was on the mark. Not sure how the extension of the MJur deadline will affect things, however.

Wow, you have no idea how much this thread worried me, I thought the decisions had already been released for a moment there!
Best of luck to everyone that has applied.

By "letter" as in "by post"?? Really? That's very odd and quite impractical indeed..we're all in for a big wait then :(

According to the website, it's 19 March (or shortly thereafter) for offers this year. I also thought that it would be an email from the faculty and then letter to follow - which would make sense as it is a Saturday.
Best of luck to all!
Best of luck to all!

Ah, the website is wrong on that. That was the automated message following confirmation that applications are complete, but I got an email straight after to confirm that the date was wrong on the email and that is should be Friday 18 March, not the saturday.
The letter thing is also true, graduate admissions confirmed that to me when confirming my application was conplete, its for equality purposes.
Hope this helps!

Wishful thinking on my part! Thanks, Lawbod!

so if the letter is mailed out on 18th march, when should we expect them to arrive...?
Posted Mar 12, 2011 09:43
I guess in a week or two..

I was searching trough the admissions posts from last year and althought Oxford said the same thing about the decisions been notified by post, several people actually got admissions emails, I hope they do send emails this year,

Posts from last year suggest that emails will be sent out on the Wed/Thurs before the deadline of results (18th Mar this year) for both acceptance and rejection. This seems more likely since it would be more unfair if some people (e.g. from the UK) receive their news a week ahead of those from the rest of the world.

Decisions were certainly notified through e-mail last year. All three of my seniors who were admitted received e-mail confirmations on the 18th/19th of March. I see no reason why it will be different this year.

I really hope we receive an email next week!

Not sure I want an email . . . In fact, I'm not sure I want to know . . . ! At least with a letter I can chose when to open it, but with an email my blackberry will flash at me until I read it! Really, really nervous! Hope everyone else is bearing up ok!

I don't want to speculate on the criteria used by Oxford vs. Cambridge. However, I must say tha I was quite surprised to find out that a girl from my Law Faculty got an offer from Cambridge and was rejected by Oxford last year. I used to be convinced that Cambridge had the highest admittance standards, but now I'm not sure that is true...
Anyways, fingers crossed for our next week's emails! :)

Hey guys. The decision better come by email otherwise its gona be disaster for some people who have offers and are facing a deadline for acceptance from others schools. I'v got offers from NYU and Penn Law,and awaiting Oxford and Harvard. Though I hav Firstclass, GPA 4.63, University and Law school, am stil gittry! Should I be??? I guess yes.

Do you think we will receive an e mail only in case of admission or also in case of rejection?
