Oxford 2024-2025 BCL/MSCs/MJUR/MPHIL/MLF

so nervous that I wanna puke????

According to the infos from the last years, today between 11-17 CET will likelbe the time frame where the majority of the button changes happen. If so, tmr will likely be the offer day for BCL/Mjur, and afterwards mass rejections on the weekend.

The only factor which speaks against this theory is that there has been absolutely nothing reported on MLF which is -according to the statistics- always decided and offered before BCL/Mjur. But since those are independent programmes, I would not assume that this observation would be absolute.

The best answer is still, "button disappearance shows a decision has been made on your application." As for whether it is a rejection or an acceptance, nobody knows. But being a re-applicant, I have noticed some trend in this year's button disappearance, kinda they have been processing program by program unlike last year where they seemed like processing all programs (except MLF that came earlier) together, maybe due to that strike.

I do not think we can precisely interpret the implications of the timing of button disappearance, based on last year's experiences. Analysis from previous years suggested that an early disappearance could indicate a higher chance of receiving an offer. However, I was skeptical last year, especially since those who still had their buttons on had admissions to other prestigious programs, such as the MCL and LLM at Cambridge, and even the LLM at Harvard. This led me to question the reliability of early disappearance as an indicator, a doubt that was later validated. This year, I have observed a mix of outcomes, where some of those with early disappearances already have admissions to programs like MCL, LLM or PhD at Cambridge (Some even had their Gates Cambridge Interviews). I still do not think this evidence is conclusive......(just giving my troubled head some distractions to keep going because I have not been able to do anything serious this week. Last year, I promised myself I will keep off refreshing and refreshing email and graduate application portal until that decision comes but I have seen it is very hard. Hoping for the best for all of us. You are all great people.)

This thread is more entertaining than Cambridge LLM thread. 1f9231f923

1f6021f602 I hollered!!

In the interests of a bit of levity at this stressful time, I asked ChatGPT to summarise the content of this thread into a song. This is what it came up with:

“(Intro)

In Oxford town, the applicants gather 'round,
For MJur, their dreams they've tightly wound.
A magic button appeared, then vanished away,
Leaving them anxious, wondering their fate each day.

(Chorus)

Oh, Oxford, Oxford, what will you decide?
With hopes so high, we wait with bated pride.
The button's dance, it plays with our heart,
In this whirlwind of uncertainty, we're torn apart.

(Verse 2)

They search for patterns, like scientists in the night,
Hoping for clues to make their futures bright.
WhatsApp groups form, for solace and advice,
As they navigate this rollercoaster, oh so nice.

(Chorus)

Oh, Oxford, Oxford, what will you decide?
With hopes so high, we wait with bated pride.
The button's dance, it plays with our heart,
In this whirlwind of uncertainty, we're torn apart.

(Bridge)

Documents received, but what does it mean?
Are they closer to their academic dream?
The button's game continues, with twists and turns,
As each applicant's restless heart yearns.

(Chorus)

Oh, Oxford, Oxford, what will you decide?
With hopes so high, we wait with bated pride.
The button's dance, it plays with our heart,
In this whirlwind of uncertainty, we're torn apart.

(Outro)

So to Oxford we plead, make your choice known,
For in this waiting game, our patience is overthrown.
Grant us relief, from this button's cruel jest,
And lead us towards our academic quest.”

This thread is more entertaining than Cambridge LLM thread. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Thank you very much and I hope we will get decisions soon. Besides, now that Harvard released their LLM decisions a few moments ago, I have also seen some of those who reported early button disappearances here get HLS acceptances. Just in case someone wonders why I left it out, they hadn't released their admission results. (some interesting trend for those of us still drawing patterns (despite several advices/warnings to the contrary)1f62d. Of course this is not conclusive
