Hey everyone! How many of you have noticed the button disappear? [BCL applicant]

I think quite a lot of people have noticed their button disappear over the past few weeks! Mine is still there though.

BCL? I only read button disappearance for Mphil etc.

Friends, I implore you to breathe. With the forum prior and through earlier discussion in this one, buttons disappearing do not mean anything. Last forum had people receive offers/rejections even though their buttons remained. If Oxford allowed for an inherently informal side-alley mechanism to act as a prophecy for the result of our application and/or its progression, perhaps we may need to revisit how highly we rate it...

That being said, best of luck everyone. We (BCL/MJUR) usually hear back a week after MLF. Seeing as MLF applicants still do not have updates, I am wary of my (and I suppose others ITT) estimation that we would have heard by Friday, but nonetheless, stay put and the results will come to you at the same time! The button disappearance is still indicative of movement on the school's part regarding our application so let those who want to discuss it discuss it. It's just not indicative of whether an offer or rejection is coming.

Seems like last year Crim Msc got their responses around the same time as BCL/Mjur and IHRL Msc and they sent out offers for that last week so I think we can still hope for responses on the BCL/Mjur qnd IHRL Msc to come out this week.

Certainly, if there's any theory to draw from the button disappearing, the most sensible would be that a decision has been made. My concern isn't with people discussing it as that would be an asinine approach, but simply reassurance that a button disappearing or not has no effect on the grand scheme of things - again, people have received decisions without it disappearing.

Re hearing back this week, I hope so too, undoubtably such a gruelling process, lol.

my take is that for those whose button disappear early they are either superior (ranked 1 of 1000 etc) or its an early rejection. all other “maybe cases” deserve longer time to be assessed. for example, if you are ranked top 20% and apply to mjur, it can be sure that you have 0 chance, so you will be sorted out early - without even the essay being checked.

They had the same deadline as all of us as well so hopefully that does mean something in terms of how fast the law department is moving, but of course one can only hope at this stage! I know a few more days should make little to no difference when we've waited for so long, but they're really the hardest to bear

Guys, I researched last year's thread and this message seemed to me to be quite useful.

4) In 2017, the deadline was 20 January, just like 2023, andresults were out on Thursday, 16 March".

Just letting you know that I saw in another thread that a Msc IHRL applicant received a rejection email yesterday so it may be that the sending of offers and rejections has started
