Oxford 2023-2024 BCL/MSCs/MJUR/MPHIL/MLF Applicants

miki3999

Hi, has anyone else received an email about a survey just now?

yeah everyone should get it

Miki3999, do you remember getting sent a link to complete such a survey?

Everyone should get the survey link regardless of the outcome (the decisions have not been yet made btw)

Judging by last year's thread, they started receiving offers from March 17th onwards. I don't think we should stress over anything for at least another month.

True, MJur/BCL offers will occur in the second half of March, so no need to even worry until 15 March. But MLF offers tend to come a week earlier, last year on 11 March for example.

Okay great, thanks everyone. Do results tend to come out on random days, or is it more likely to be at the start of the week on a Monday?

To my understanding (but please don't take my word for it), MLF decisions are conveyed on the 2nd week of March whereas BCL decisions happen on the 3rd week of March.

Here are the decision release dates for the MJur for the past 7 years, which I got from older threads:

16/3/16
16/3/17
15/3/18
20/3/19
19/3/20
19/3/21
17/3/22

Observations:
1) The application deadline was always on the Friday of the 3rd week of January and results were always released between Wednesday and Friday on the 3rd week of March, 7th week after the deadline.
2) BCL results were either released on the same day, or one day before the MJur.
3) MLF results were always released roughly one week before BCL/MJur decisions.
4) In 2017, the deadline was 20 January, just like 2023, and results were out on Thursday, 16 March.

Conclusions:
1) The Faculty releases BCL/MJur decisions no later than 8 weeks after the application deadline.
2) We should expect to receive BCL/MJur decisions on or after 15 March, but no later than 17 March.
3) We should expect MLF results to be out between 8 and 10 March.

Also: as to the "magic button", if you open the GASS, go to your course application, click on the "View Applicant Self Service Guide" button, and then on the tab "Supporting Documents", you'll see that "Once a decision has been made on your application, no further documents can be uploaded".

This means that the upload button will disappear when they make a decision, but they might make the decision and not mark it as such on the web platform. So, if your button disappears, it means that they have made a decision on your application. But if it doesn't, you just can't conclude anything.

Hope this helps.

I'm in the same situation as you and still keeping the hope alive - from last year's thread, there were plenty of people who got one but not the other.  No need for us to lose hope until we know for sure!

Thank you for saying this. I didn't see a situation of anyone getting acceptance from oxford after rejection from cambridge so didn't think it could be possible but you sayong this makes me think that there still might be hope although i am not holding on to it now 1f602

In the same boat as well. I have given up hopes for Oxford but I'll be happy to welcome a surprise if they decide to spring one up for me. Will send late applications to QMUL, Edinburgh, UCL, and KCL now, I guess.

Didn't see one of these threads for this year's applicants so I thought I'd make one.

I'm applying for the BCL, ideally Magdalen College - how is everyone getting on with applications for this year?

I’ve applied for the BCL too. The waiting game continues.
