Oxford 2023-2024 BCL/MSCs/MJUR/MPHIL/MLF Applicants

I have a feeling that maybe for the BCL, those that reported their button going on Tuesday 14th in the evening are more likely to get offers, with those processed throughout the day on Wednesday 15th more likely to be rejected. That's quite a short turn around time for them to move from offers to rejections but I think it's unlikely that everyone who reported their button missing on the Wednesday 15th would get an offer.

Honestly, and for my own sake I hate to say this, but I think those of us who are still awaiting button disappearances for the BCL are the ones more likely to get rejections.  Maybe the same applies to people whose buttons disappeared yesterday, but I'd tentatively say they're still in with a chance for offers or waitlists, given that there are still people (like myself) whose buttons haven't disappeared at all.

It doesn't seem like there are many people with buttons still showing at this stage (from what I can tell there are just one or two) - so I'd guess that if it's still showing that's more likely to be admin error (so could be either offer/rejection) or waitlist? This is all pure conjecture though, maybe you're right and they processed a few more offers on the Wednesday but from what I can tell they usually do the offers in a batch of around an hour.

It did but I have no idea when - I checked at about midday on Wednesday so it could have disappeared any time before that.

I think everything is pure conjecture until we hear of a BCL acceptance. Then we could perhaps tell what the pattern is with regard to the timing of the button disappearance. Best not to stress about it, the outcome will not change anyway! Best of luck, everyone. :)

I will still say there is a chance since Oxford is known to process acceptances first. Don't lose hope.

Honestly at this point I'm of the same mind and almost hoping my button doesn't disappear!

What time do they usually send the email, be it with acceptance or rejection? Any idea, anyone?

My BCL button is still there :(

I never expected an offer in the first place so why does it annoy me now?

So been lurking around this thread because of a friend who is waiting just like you all. But I just want to encourage you all to just remain calm and not fret. Personally I do not think this button thing means anything. I did the BCL in 2017/2018 and during my time offers started coming in on the 13th March. After two days of waiting I got my offer on the 15th March albeit the letter was dated 13th. Just saying that your outcome really isn't dependent on a button or timing. I assumed  emails were sent out alphabetically by surnames because that would make mine make sense but we will all never know. All the best to you all! The fact that you even applied means you are awesome don't forget that.

Okay so I had a quick read through the thread from when the 'button disappearances' began for BCL applicants, there were only 3 in  the evening on Tuesday and then a small trickle of them in the morning (Wednesday morning) up until around mid-day when more people started reporting their magic button had disappeared.

None of us can be entirely sure as to what it means - so I think just take it as they've made a decision, no matter what the decision may be, could be an offer, waitlist or even rejection but I have my hopes up for everyone, since we won't know for sure until the e-mails start coming through. Good luck everyone!!
