at durham they have very few modules...and it is one from eu law, one from international and one from common law; therefore, you can not have four modules in one field; i don't know, but i have the impression that you study a little piece of everything and in the end you can not talk about a specialization in a certain field.

Hi, i am from Malaysia, i am also interested in doing LLM, i just received my LLB result this early June, so it is quite inconvenient for me to apply for some good ranking universities as they have set down early deadline, i have heard that aberdeen, durham and manchester are quite good. At first i though of kings, LSE but they have closed application for 2008....
I am now considering manchester, durham and aberdeen. I wanted to involve in International trade and commercial related subjects.
Thanks for those who have provided some information about durham.

dear oskkhan,
after long discussions, I made a decision - i will go to durham. As I understood from forum discussions, at Aberdeen there exists a real problem with accomodation and there are certain cases when students are staying at the hotel. I received a partial scholarship from Aberdeen, but even in these conditions, I decided that Durham will be. Good luck with your choice!

I have been offered membership from University College. What modules are you going to choose. Best of luck with your decision. I hope and prey that you become a great lawyer

Hey,
I think that both of you made the right choice.
Indeed, you took into account your personal choice and not only rankings.
Aberdeen is one place above durham but I think that here is not the essential.

It is important not to focus only on rankings but ot choose a town, a uni where you gonna feel well.
Good luck to both of you.

oshkhan,
ur lucky to have been offered a place at university college, a.k.a. "The Castle". because the demand for that college is too high, they raffle the names of the applicants. ur lucky to have been chosen.
there is a downside though. the rooms are old. it is a castle. what do u expect? haha
it is nonetheless very posh to live in a castle.

Posted Jul 12, 2008 13:44
josephine butler college is the newest college. in terms of facilities, we have the best because everything is new
Posted Jul 12, 2008 14:26
dear mtz94,
Please indicate what type of facilities josphine buttler have which are not present in the castle
I am sorry for bothering you again and again

facilities are basically the same but the only thing with j. butler is that it is new. so, all facilities are also new.
to illustrate, the air conditioning/heating system of castle is of course a bit problematic, however, castle has a very posh tradition. u have formal dinners 2x a week in contrast to other colleges which may be only 2x a term. also if u want to experience the harry potter dinners, castle is it!
