Dear Friends,
My name is Alejandro Salazar, i have been admitted to the University of Nottingham (UK) as well to Groningen University (The Netherlands). The programmes are LL.M in International Public Law, and International Law and the Law of International Organisations with a specialization in Human Rights respectively.
I am not a fanatic of university rankings, however i am aware that Nottingham is up in the scale. On the other hand, Groningen has been recently rated the best law faculty in the Netherlands, in addition the importance of The Netherlands in the area of international law and human rights.
What would you do if you were in my situation?
Should i go to Groningen or Nottingham?
Thank you so much friends. I really need your advice.

I have offer from places You mentioned and few more. In my opinion teaching and how modules are conducted might differ due to different cultures of education. Making decision in my case was deciding where I would like spend a year: UK or Netherlands (language etc.)? You may also consider the fact that UK is a common law country while Netherlands are from the civil law system. You can decide whether some basic experience in different legal system would look in Your resume or it's better to focus on one branch and follow it strictly. Financial matter might also help You decide. Try doing one thing: check the degree structure and modules and try to create a hypothetical curriculum of Your LLM in both places: which one would You prefer and which would suit and round out Your previous experience?
Regards.
Regards.

Hi Alejandro!
I am admitted to the International Law and International Organisations (spec. Human Rights) programme of the University of Groningen for the next academic year! Did you choose the NL in the end? Maybe you could share your experience with me!It would be very useful for me as I suppose I will be in a similar dilemma shortly...
