LSE & City Univ. Admissions

mdiath

I am a lawyer from Greece, specialized in business-commercial-corporate law with First Grade LLB and LLM from University of Athens, and Candidate PhD. I would like to pursue a further LLM degree in a top english university, in order firstly to upgrade my academic status (i am thinking to pursue an academic carreer) and secondly to add a strong asset to my CV. Due to professional obligations, I will be able to apply (i have to concentrate many things!) at the middle of march. My questions: 1) Have I any chances to be accepted (due to application deadlines- in LSE LLM there are no deadlines but it is possible that there wont be any empty places when i will apply)? 2) Which of these 2 should I prefer, if accepted (city is very reknown in greece as far as maritime and business law is concerned, but i dont know if this perception screens reality)? Your answer will be very helpfull (please take into consideration each university's general fame, alumni and network)

You may just send in your applications to both schools as early as possible. The dilemma will arise if you are admitted to both. However, if you are admitted to one of the two schools, then your choice would be crystal clear.

Yes, normally you will receive a conditional offer to hand in your toefl results afterwards.

so i have to apply immediately... i hope my effort wont be vain, only because of late application, as i have strong academic background. it is very different to compete with 1500 persons for 200 places, instead of competing with 200 late applicants for 10 places... i didn't know this basic element as in american universities everything about application should be ready when you send it... i think i lost much time.

I don't dunno exacly what to do...? I am completely confused.
I have applied to all Universities for Commercial / Corporate Law Programmes:

I have recieved an unconditional offer from
(i) Glasgow University
(ii) City University
(iii) Nottingham Trent University
(iv) Kent University

But City is asking me to pay a non-refundable deposit of £750 for registration within the next 3 weeks.

And UCL, QMUL, KCL have not yet replied

I have Conditional offers from Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham (But there is very little hope to fulfill the condition)...!

What should i do? If you recommend me to accept an unconditional offer. Which unconditional offer should i accept?
City, Glasgow, Kent, NTU ?

Will any the these Universities any problems with the VISA process.

P.S. I wish to work in law firm immediately after graduating in UK. And it will be great i can get chance to work while i am studying (I am on personal funding). Your early response will be very helpful.

Also i have heard that these rankings are mainly LLB rankings and not for LLM programmes. Is it true?
