To those of you planning to do their LLM at LSE starting in September - do you know if we have to read any material in advance?
Thanks

Not that I'm aware of. There is some info on preliminary reading for some of the courses at the Law Department's homepage, see at the following link: http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/law/
However, I haven't read anywhere that you have to read this stuff. Perhaps we'll receive anything later this summer from the Department.

Thanks a lot. We'll probably have a lot to read when we get there...

Yes, we can certainly expect that. But I look forward to it...
To all of you which will start your LLM studies at LSE next September, have you decided which courses you will select? Are you all planning to have a specialised LLM degrees or just a general LLM?

Thanks for the heads up about the Law page listings. I do plan on specializing my LLM, just haven't decided yet.
Any thoughts on housing? I applied for graduate student housing at Grovesnor, but it appears to be somewhat small. The accomodations office promised a reply by July, however, if I do not get student housing, I plan on moving to London in mid-September to start looking for a place.
Where are you both from?

Hello, I was accepted into another program at LSE for last year (04-05) and have been accepted into the LL.M. program for this year (05-06).
Anyways, last summer I was sent a program package that had a listing of all the year's reading in it. I would expect we will receive the same again this year in the LL.M. program.

Hi
I thought that the courses which we had to mention on the application forms are the ones that we have to take eventually. I even remember I read somewhere that if one wants to change his choices, his applicatin will be reconsidered.

I'm not sure. They can hardly enforce us to stand 100% by our choices of proposed courses put forth in our application. At the time, you couldn't even be sure if the courses would all be offered. I'm fairly confident that you can change your preliminary choices, at least few of them. However, it would be appreciated if someone could confirm this.

Hi all, again -
I just browsed through the LLM Preliminary Information 2004-05, published on the Law Department Website (http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/law/) and there the following is stated:
"LSE registration for LLM students will take place between Wednesday 22nd September to 29th September. You will receive confirmation of this from the Student Services Centre. You will not be expected to register your specific subjects for study at this stage; the main exercise is to register yourself as a student at the School and to receive essential information. [...] You only have until about the end of week 3 of the first weeks of teaching to finalise your choice of subjects for examination and for dissertation assessment. This means that you need to resolve any uncertainties very quickly once the Michaelmas term starts."
I believe this hasn't changed over one year. At least there are no indications of it.

Hi - I'm coming from Hong Kong to London to do the LLM at LSE this year. Any suggestions on accommodation? Anyone need a flatmate?

hello peeps. Does anyone know Hawkridge, Warden Road? I will appreciate any info anyone can give me on the area. Is it a good neighbourhood? Is it a walking distance to UCL? Thanks in advance!!!
