I am going for LLM in maritime law this year(Swansea).
I want to know how is job market right now? is it easy getting a job after the end of your term?
It involves a lot of money and time, so please advise me if I should reconsider my decision?

Hello Erica,
why would you want to reconsider your decision?
Because of some postings in a forum? I hope not...
Therefore, if your original decision process was sound -> go for it....
If not, you might want to reconsider...
Bye

I am in the shipping sector
The business is not bad at all. If you are good and learned a lot whilst doing your degree you will get a job. But remember you need to develop yourself and work hard.....

Hi I was in the same position a couple of years ago and I am glad I made the right choice to join Swansea. Teaching was superb, lecturers were very approachable and also they have good links with law firms and P&I clubs. Swansea organises an annual Careers Fair where leading law firms and P&I Clubs come to recruit Swansea LLM students. Check the Postgraduate Legal Studies website on Employability to see how much they do to prepare the LLM students for the prtactice. LLM students have been offered internships which have led to permanent jobs.I have actually been one of the LLM students who had immensly benefited from Swansea links and have a very good job in a P&I Club. And I can tell you that there are a lot of jobs available but you also have to work hard, as Kosta also said, to prove yourself! As the entire shipping sector values Swansea's education abecause Swansea LLM graduates are very well prepared to work in the mariime business, pursuing the Swansea LLM will be your first step to your personal success.
