LLM Cambridge 2020-2021

p001

Would someone be able to call today to find out more about the situation? The strike started today and we're not really sure they'll be working!

We have already been told that the strike will not affect us, and calling them again will not change this fact.

So, as the British say: Keep Calm and Carry On. We will know when we know, and obsessive speculation will only make the wait insufferable.

I totally agree with you.
Just checked my portal and it is still under review.

They only have six more working days until the deadline they gave so keep calm, six days to go (maximum)

I also agree! All we can do is wait and see. Can't be much longer! I think it is also important to note that judging by last year's thread some applicants' portals went straight from "department review" to receiving an offer email. This occurred on February 22nd. Many people in last years thread speculated that the one person who said they received an offer earlier than this was a troll. All we can now do is sit tight! Best of luck in the coming days everyone!

Exactly my thinking also. I’m going to hold out hope for hearing something tomorrow based on last years’ trend, and if I don’t then going to put it to the back of my mind again as could be anything from a week to a month if we don’t hear tomorrow I’d say...

By way of update, I know of one person who has received an offer for the MPhil in Criminological Research and another who has received an offer for the PHD in law, these offers were sent 2 days ago. By inference, one can only presume that the LLM applications will be following closely behind!

Thanks for the update. Do you know if their status changed to waiting approval by the GAO or they went directly to admitted? thanks

Hi Everyone!
Just caught up on all your posts. Many congrats to those who already received a conditional offer or are awaiting approval by the GAO, and fingers crossed for the rest of us!! Mine is still under review...

Clearly, the wait is far more stressful than the completion stage of our submissions :)

According to Graduate Admissions website, the departments make their decisions within 10-12 weeks after deadline. Tuesday (25th Feb) marks the end of 12th week from 3rd December 2019. We have waited now for more than 2 months. Just a couple of days to go!

I feel it would be more prudent to hold our urges until the first week of March. Many of us tried calling and at each time they were unable to offer us anything different than what is already on their website, which is that "The Faculty of Law aims to finalise all LLM admissions decisions by 1 March 2020" - not the same as informing all the hopeful candidates on or before that date or indeed that all the LLM admissions will be decided by that date.

Let's try to visualise the worst-case scenario, ie: not getting an answer until say Friday 6th March, and try to make ourselves busy until then. The rugby is on this wkd if that helps :))

I agree, but it is easier said than done. :(

Anxiety is at its peak right now.

I could swear that this is taking much longer than in previous years though (although it might be skewed by the small number of posters on this forum). I’m certain that offers had started going out by this time in previous years. Nothing to be done about it but it is annoying
