The distant learning course is made to sound great. However it is best avoided. Questions not answered and e-mails not replied to - could never get hold of supervisors. I was ignored during the course not given requested info and lied to. E-mails saying that my dissertation was well presented, good etc all from supervisor G. Ndi - then he sent me an e-mail saying it was the worst he had ever read only after I rang the head of the law school about the problems I was having with him. Had a totally unpleasant time because of G.Ndi would never recommend this uni to anyone the standard of respect for students is deplorable. THE COURSE IS CHEAP. REMEMBER BUT YOU DONT GET 5 STAR STANDARDS WHEN YOU ONLY PAY FOR 1 STAR. SO AVOID AVOID AVOID

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad time.
Nonetheless, it is fair that you do not join the chorus of graduates pretending to have had an awesome time during their LL.M. studies, when they clearly had not, but give an honest feedback allowing prospective students to make an informed decision.

The problem you claim to have encountered at the end of your "external" programme is persoal that should have been reported to the relevant internal body within the University for proper investigation which you failed to do.
I've few comrades who had their LLBs, LLMs and LPCs from the University of Huddersfield. I understand the University boasts of internationally recognised and well-known lecturers/practioners. I didn't attend Huddersfiled but go to Hammicks Legal Book shop in Chancerey Lane and you will find most practioners books and textbooks on the shelves written by Huddersfield lecturers. This is not a mushroom University at all.
I'm sorry to say that you didn't take a sensible path. My advice is if you feel that you didn't get value for the work you did, please make an official complain to the Office of Independent Adjudicator (OIA) of Higher Education base in Reading. I am aware that this OIA is purely administartive body and normally sticks to the original decisions of the Universities but that is not the end of the road. You can take the matter to the High Court for judicial review but judges are very robust with limitation periods so make sure you file your application for judicial review within 3 months of the original decision.
Anyway, I wonder why you were aniticipating distance learning to be great. Don't deceive yourself by comparing socratic method of learning to distance learning. Avoid the latter and go for the former in future pls. All the best!

The post only contained a little of what happened as I did not deen it necessary to post the correspondance on line but maybe know I WILL SO OTHERS CAN JUDGE.
One should never assume what another did or did not follow procall without knowing all the facts or what they intend to do or don't. I met people who blow there own trumpets everyday and quote this and that and insult others intelligence without knowing all the facts. So before you judge, gather the facts. Have a nice day!!!!

There are substantial grounds to believe on the balance of probability that Magnet12 post which contains bunch of inaccuracies and full of errors refers to my honest and genuine comments about this thread. If my presumption sounds noble, then I must say to this gentleman to digest my post before we start another unproductive argument.
I don't see any substance in Magnet12 post and he must get facts before he puts his fingers on his key board. I didn't use any strong/offensive word(s) in my post and wonder why he shd characterise my post as offensive. Words like" unreasonable, irrationale, sensible," etc are legalistic which any lawyer must use depending on the circumstance.
I've just come from church and please don't start it. Have good time and add flavour to your post(s) in future pls! I didn't attend Huddersfield University but this is not a bogus University at all and if this guy sticks to my reasonable advice , he will be OK.

[...] he must get facts before he puts his fingers on his key board.
Well, maybe that's an advice you should follow yourself in the future. You know, if you point the finger at someone, three fingers simultaneously point back at you.
You told him specifically what he should have done whithout knowing any details of the particular case.
Ciao

I strongly believe u and Flori and if not the same name anyway; shd begin to argue as reasonable and responsible commentators as Lord Denning said. Don't comment irrationally pls. Don't deter potential prospective students from studying in a great Uni like Hudersfield with well baked lawyers. I didn't study at Huddersfield anyway but is good for any prospective students with great ambition to climb on the academic ladder. Let's argue as lawyers

You should be very careful when making such allegations.

I'm really impressed to hear such a statement from a user being notorious for his irrational rants. Is this the same Y.K Thomas as this one?
Hope you aren't stuck in the past with those guys who keep on licking on your dirty boots.

(I also would have liked to quote your last post in the aforementioned thread, but it seems to have been removed by the forum's supervisors.)
How comes your sudden change of heart? Maybe yesterday's holy service was not wasted on you? :)
Anyway, it's funny that you always say what an awesome university Huddersfield is while simultaneously stressing that you, of course, did not attend this university...By the way, which university did you attend? Seems to be a big mystery.
