Late Application

lawchick

Hi everyone...can you please tell me, should I even bother applying at this time? The deadlines for UCL, King's and Westminster are all about mid-June (King's is actually mid-July). I just recently got the idea to apply for an LLM in london, but realize it may be late. Is it pointless to apply right now, even though the deadlines haven't passed? Or should I still give it a shot? I was thinking maybe they'd still accept people because there are always spots that open back up, people who back out, a waiting list, etc.

Thanks for any advice....also, anyone know of any LLM schools where it might not be too late? (I know LSE's deadline already closed).

It's always worth applying, right up until (and in somecases past) the application deadline.

The University of Edinburgh will, for some LL.M programmes consider applications for a few more weeks. I also know that the LL.M Innovation, Technology and the Law (link to website) will accept applications through the summer months.

Good luck!

SURE.. or I mean, is there a reason NOT TO apply?

I sent in my applications only a week ago ;)

Thanks everyone! I am going to go for it...I might not get my apps out until mid-May though (waiting for those references). I might as well try, and not end up wondering "hmm, what if I HAD sent those apps in, would I be in school right now??" :)

I've thought of it by just hearing about it on here...I had originally just planned on going to somewhere in the UK, but I keep hearing about Edinburgh. Isn't it difficult to get into though? I thought it was one of the very top schools.

2_CMiller: Nice logo!!!! ^^

2_LawChick: I would suggest you to apply to several (obtain references for several) law schools one of which should be a "safe" one. Edin is very good choice, but I am sure that there is still time to apply to others - e.g. KCL...
just to ensure that you do start LLM program this year.

thx for the replies! I am so far applying to King's, UCL and Westminster. I am considering Queen Mary, but not sure yet. How about London Metropolitan U--haven't seen much about it here, is it not that good of a school? By the way, any other suggestions? Also, what do you all think the difficulty levels of getting into those schools are?
(still considering Edinburgh, but I really wanted to go to London). Thx!
