KCL LLM 2009 application process

Congratulations again san_24. I am also a lawyer. I work at one of Mexico's major lawfirms.

By the way, today I received the unconditional offer, so I only need to send the acceptance form.

D10, from the unconditional offer, I understand that "if you have not accepted the offer by the end of the third week, the offer will be withdrawn and your place will be allocated to
another applicant". Maybe giving a call to KCL directly is not a bad idea. In any case, if you have a conditional offer, you can hold on with fulfilling the conditions untill you have a better idea on what you want (and can) do.

venky 53, I really don't know. Since I'm in Mexico, I used DHL, also to be sure it arrived soon, since Mexican post is awful.

hey patomz..congratulations on your unconditional offer!! they do have a 3 week deadline within which you have to accept the offer, and once they receive your acceptance they update the online tracker to Stage 5. However, like you said, giving KCL a call would be wise to ensure that there are no problems later on..i did the same. congratulations once again...all the best! take care!

Dear all KCL candidates... PLEASE HELP!

Im wondering if we apply via online process, do we need to mail the original materials to the school afterward? I understand that the original ones would be required once the offer is made, am I correct???

BamBoo, if you apply online, you need to provide scanned copies of your documents. If and when you are offered a place, such offer will most likely be conditional, subject to you sending them the original documents you scanned (at least that was my case).

I hope this helps you.

Patricio is correct. I also applied online using scanned documents, and when I received my offer it was conditioned upon them receiving the original documents at a later time. Tactically, it may be in your interest to apply using scanned documents since an unconditional offer has to be accepted or denied within three weeks whereas a conditional offer will allow you to continue fulfilling the requirements until August. If you plan on applying to other schools which might take longer to make decisions (King's seems pretty fast in this regard), your best move might be to apply with scanned documents so you're conditionally admitted and don't have the time pressure of making a decision without knowing who else will give you an offer. Good luck!

I agree with the tactic suggested above. It would just be important to mention that June is the deadline for accomodation applications, which is something you have to bear in mind.

patomz is bang on as far as the accomodation is concerned. however, decisions pertaining to accomodation are made on the basis of lottery, so obtaining decent accomodation depends on how lucky you are!!

lottery means it doesn't matter when you apply as long as it is before June, am I right?
anyway what are your preferences for the accomodation?

yeah thats right..you just need to apply before June. The best accomodation available is undoubtedly Great Dover Apartments and Stamford Apartments..

I was also wondering about the best accomodation. I understand that you have also to consider transportation cost (to and from the school) which could make equal a cheaper rent vs. a higher rent closer to school.... Any thoughts?
