Hello Akinyemi,
obtaining an LLM from the university of Dundee certainly is a splendid choice. However, the "joint" element of the programme would be a dealbreaker for me. Being taught in English at a French University is usually a recipe for disaster, furthermore I am not so sure about the academic credentials of the Université de Cergy-Pontoise (founded: 1991).

Hi Akinyemi,
I attended the Joint LLM in International Commercial Law in 2008-2009, it was a wonderful experience to study in both Universities (Dundee and Cergy-Pontoise). The level of the Professors and the opportunity to attend lectures in law firms in the heart of Paris is unique. Holding the Joint LLM. from Dundee and Cergy-Pontoise helped me to find my dream job in the Chilean Revenue Agency. If you want to make a good choice for your career don't think twice.
Cheers,
Chris

I think its a nice opportunity to improve your French and get a valueable insight into both jurisdictions.

However, if you do not speak any French and French will be of no importance in your further work, than I would consider this program as pointless.

The University of Cergy-Pontoise offers a free intensive French course for foreign students, so if you speak some French you will you improve it. If you don't, it's a good instance to learn a new lenguaje, especially if you plan a career in Europe.

hi Tatalau,

I am writing to ask for your experience with the Joint LLM in dundee university with Cergy-pontoise .please could you clarify to me the advantage of this program and how the program was in cergy-pontoise specifically ?. it was my thinking that dundee law school have good courses and teaching , it is a well-known and high ranked law school in UK and for cergy-pontoise is a good place to gain practical experience by the hand of well-qualified lawyers and as well improving french language

I am in a bad need to hear your opinion as soon as possible.
