Hi everyone
Newbie here :) I'm from Hong Kong and have completed my UoL external LLB just last year and ended up with a 2:2, but good grades for Public International Law and International Protection of human rights (both high 2:1). Do you think I stand a chance in getting a place in Public International Law LLM at KCL, Edinburgh, QMUL, SOAS etc? And also big places like Leiden and Utrecht?
Thanks a lot!
International Law LLM with a high 2:2?

Of course you do stand a chance. It depends on the level of applicants in a particular year. And also other relevant experience you have acquired, apart from the sole evaluation of your academic grades. In all, it depends on the number of stronger applicants for a place and how many places the school is willing to offer

cheers. anyone else? would really like to know as i suppose applying in march is pretty late already..

It depends on your actual average and on your overall credentials! From the universities you've mentioned (uk ones) the hardest to get in would be king 's! It's worth applying though!

Hi,
Am in my final year at King's and to be honest you have a very tiny chance getting into King's. you need 64% in the UK they are all about grades.

it's quite hard but not impossible....if for example his/hers 2:2 is a borderline 2:2, or had mitigating circumstances but has a strong application (work experience, publications etc) it would not be impossible

thanks all!! my 2:2 is a 57, and i got 66 in public international law and 63 in international human rights law. the LLM i wanna do is public international law. i am a journalist and have worked as researcher at a consulate. wondering what my chances are? i have sent my applications to QMUL and Leiden, thinking if i should bother applying the others?

you should give it a shot, you have nothing to lose! :)

yea i know :( but im really nervous. think i have a chance at QMUL?

From what i've heard QM does accept applicants with a 2:2!
Posted Mar 14, 2014 10:23
i just got rejected by QM :(
but i really thought it had a shot (sure i had a 2:2 but i was applying for PIL LLM, and my LLB PIL score was 66...)....
so i'm devastated....
i'm asking them to reconsider but i guess i should look into other law schools now...

Try Oxford Brookes, Hull and Hertfordshire.. Goodluck you will be fine

if the university is too unrenwoned...it raises the question of whether the LLM is worth it. sigh.
I may try Manchester, Nottingham etc...

Queen Mary accept high 2:2s. King's and UCL won't however.
