Recently,I've applied for LLM in University of East Anglia and University of Hertfordshire through Agent..I had received conditional offer(IELT) from UEA and unconditional offer frm UH..But i always receive mails frm UEA regarding my application...for UH,i didn't receive mails frm the admin..The news about unconditional offer frm UH i got to know through my education Agent..almost 3 weeks but i haven't receive any offer letter frm UH...My agent suggesting me to go to UH because of uncondition offer...I'm in confuse situation...Could anybody help me to get solution for my problem in all aspects?

I agree with Private Equity, you may apply on your own to the UK universities...I too have not heard of the universities that you mentioned in your post earlier.

Please also see the new visa requirements which has changed since this year. Please check whether the names of the universities that you mentioned are there or not?

Full time LLM education in UK will cost you good money so its better that you spend the same judiciously and not on some unknown universities.

I understand that its your dream to pursue higher education in the UK and you can definitely do the same without the help of any agent. There is a lot of information on the net. Most of the genuine universities have all the information on their website and believe me its no rocket science to make a SOP, get recommendation letters from your Professors and Transcripts from College. Its just these three documents that you need.

Do some research on the internet you will get a lot of Sample SOP's on Google which you can read and get some idea as to how make your own SOP.

Agent will charge you money for nothing. Trust me everything is very simple.

I agree that it is not that necessary to rely on an agent. In some cases it is not even advisable to do so: agents often persuade their clients into beleiving that the universities they are representing are good ones.

I do not know anything about UH, but I can guarantee that UEA is not a "bad" university. It might not be as highly prestigeous as many other older universities; however, as one of those unversities established during the 1960s, it is a respectable institution of higher learning located in a very lovely town. Its law school is also a thriving one.

Of couse, there are many other better, more respectable law schools, but I am not in a position to recommend any one of them. My intention in posting here is, as I have said, just to reassure you that UEA is not a "bad" university.

I'm really thankful to those giving advise to me..Anyway,I too taking ur advises into consideration.Anyway,i still doubtful on IELTexamination.Most of the Universities go for minimum band 6.5 ...But it is not easy to score that...Is there any alternative ways to persue my LLM in case I couldnt reach that minimun score ?Thank you :)

I suppose you know from the conditional offer you have been made by UEA that a pre-sessional English course of 4-12 weeks may be substituted for the required IELTS score.

I know a student from my country who is being admitted to a research degree (not in Law) at SOAS with a score of 5.5, with the condition, of course, that he completes, if I was not mistaken, a 12 week pre-sessional English course. Only a few UK universities, like Bristol, do not accept this kind of substitution: the required IELTS score of either 6.5 or 7.0 (if not 7.5) must in any case be attained.

'Indrajee5055'....you sound more like an Indian...especially the pattern in which you speak. And considering that you are write fair enough english and you are still doubtful about your IELTS exams....shows that you are mostly indian. and the fact that you are visiting an stupid advisor and depending on him so helplessly proves you to be an indian.

PLEASE HURRY UP (you are very late) and PLEASE DO THINGS ON YOUR OWN

One more thing....PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR CHOICE OF UNIVERSITIES....(if it is your dream to come to UK for an LLM course....make sure that you have a good dream...and not a nightmare)..!

You are 100 % correct in guessing my race but Im not an Indian frm India...although my question sounds like stupid but for sure as an Indian, I'm not stupid in way of attitute...My reasons for posting question here is to be careful in all my steps that i put forward in achieving my dream of LLM...you are right that I'm moving late because there is no proper guide for me to do things..I too would like to join top law Universities but in terms of school fees and requirements,I think I'm unlucky because I'm in the border of second lower and second upper class(2.99cgpa),moreover I'm not very strong in finance wise too..Anyway,I'm very thankful to Legal_India who had given a fair advise to me..Thank you ...I would like to hear more opinions from you and others..cheers :)

I totally agree with Legal_India that you must "improve your choice of universities". Though you think your profile is not that impresseive, I beleive quite a numer of "good universities" are prepared to consider your applications. I think you are in "good border line" with a good chance of securing a place at a very respectable law school.

Just first concentrate, for example, on many of the "plate glass" universities (thosed established during the 1960s) -- the like of Kent, East Anglia, Essex, Brunel, etc -- and, perhaps, some universities in Wales -- Cardiff, Aberystwyth, Swansea...Then, you may like to look "up" to UK universities of higher ranks, including some of those in Scotland.

Thank you very much "tnuchpiam".Your advise is really meaningful for me..I will definitely take into my consideration the Universities that you listed in your post.For your information, I did apply to University of East Anglia but the thing is I got a conditional offer from UEA.Therefore,I need to be calm until get my IELTS examination's result. Result will be coming out on 4th sept but i have to be there (UEA) by 16th or 17th sept..

I think you should also consider applying for Oxford Brookes University. They accept IELTS 6.5 and they are very friendly and have a lot of foreign students.
Furthermore you can live in the wonderful student city Oxford.
