Hi every one. This is my first post on the forum.
I have 13 GCSE's that I achieved good grades in and 4 full A levels (physics, chemistry, biology and maths). The A levels I under achieved big time on. I have suffered from insomnia since my GCSE's. This went undiagnosed until last year and it turns out the cause was hyperthyroidism, an overactive thyroid gland. I would get no more than an hour or two of light sleep at least 75% of the time and this is no exaggeration at all.
I am now in my final year at the University of Kent studying law. My condition has had an extremely detrimental affect on my work and I have had to repeat my final year. I have retaken most of my modules and therefore these will have grades no higher than a 40 which is a pass. I do seriously believe that this has defiantly been a major contributing factor towards me achieving such low grades.
I generally found the material that I needed to study quite easy to comprehend, its just that my motivation was extremely low and memory was very week. I was also not very alert most of the time because I was always tired
I am now also attending a sleep clinic which is in place especially to treat insomnia patents. I am also being treated for the hyperthyroidism.
Any way, I hope to graduate this year unfortunately only with a pass and an average of around 40%.
Is there anything I can do to somehow get onto the BVC and get a pupilage at the end of that?
I know it sounds bleak and this is why I'm posting here because I am totally lost. I feel that the last 4 years will have been wasted when I could have achieved so much and I know this. I feel terrible because I know I could have done very well at my degree had I been well...
Is there anything you can suggest? Id really appreciate your time
Guys, im totally lost and dont know what to do. Please advise
