Edinburgh (LLM Commercial law) or Warwick (LLM in International economic law)

Goldcrown

Hi, everyone. I am an international offer holder and I do not intend to work in UK or EU.
I have recieved 2 unconditional offers from University of Edinburgh (LLM Commercial law) and University of Warwick (LLM in International economic law).
But now I hesitate which one should I choose as the rankings fluctuates each year. What I like in Edi is that it is located in a big city, was founded many centures ago, has a high ranking among world's best universities and subject which would be taught as I preffer more commercial law. But I am a little bit confused about ranking of Edinburgh among UK law schools and afraid of that probably I would be taught Scotts law rather than English law. What about Warwick I like its reputation and high ranking, but I am not interested much in the course as it contains to much public law subjects. Moreover they say that its location is not interesting much.
Guys, what would you choose if you were me? Please, give arguments.

Hello there and congratulations on your offers!

Since you are an international student I should also note that Scotland is way cheaper than England and so are the LLM fees.

Edinburgh is relatively big indeed, whereas Warwick is somewhat stranded.

Nevertheless, Warwick is supposed to be a little bit higher ranked than Edinburgh, but I believe that this should not affect you. What really matters is that you graduate with a good LLM in an area that you like. If you say that you prefer Commercial Law to Economic Law that speaks for itself, right?

Do two or three places in the rankings really count that much? It is not that you have to choose between Cambridge and London Met!

PS- You won't be taught any Scots law at all. I have a Scottish LLM myself and I have not learnt the first thing about Scots Law apart from when I rented my flat and had to view the contract. LLM modules are UK - EU oriented even US in some areas.
