Hai All,
I am a UG law student and had applied to Essex for an LLM in Human Rights Law. I recently received a conditional offer from the university with the condition being that I have to achieve an aggregate of 65% in my undergraduate studies.
This is next to impossible as the maximum my aggregate can rise is up to 61-62%. The university already has my transcript by which they can infer that it is just not possible.
I am clueless as to what chances I have of getting admitted in the university.
Please advise! Thanks!
Condition Impossible.

Hi,
I don't know if my experience can help you but here's what I have done. My school usually gives very low grades, it's very hard to get more than 15/20 (french system) and when you get this kind of mark you are a total genius...As the administration of my school is aware that their system cannot be understood by foreign universities, I asked my Head of Studies to write a document stating that with an average mark of 13/20 I have been in the top 5% of the school. It is an official document so I think universities such as Essex would take it into consideration...

Same problem with another program. Call them. Talk to them directly. I don't think these schools use "constructive rejections" whereby you receive a conditional offer that is impossible for you to satisfy. Call them.

Thank you so much Rabichou and P_Martini for your valuable suggestions.
I had a word with the concerned person at the university and was offered a revised conditional offer immediately. The new condition is very apt in my case.
Thank you once again.

Yes. One relatively troll-less corner of the internet. Remarkable, really.

I know the post is outdated but I have to thank you guys for guiding me at that point of time. I received my final results today, and guess what...I have fulfilled the condition mentioned in my offer letter.
Thank you all once again!
