Cambridge LLM 2024/25 - Chances?

Another annoying post about getting in?!?

I just graduated from SOAS with a first but I don't think it is that impressive as it is a subpar first and I have read people with first have been rejected (of course this includes their whole application and not just academics). But my subpar first is why I am hesitant to apply. I know the only way to know is if I actually apply. But before I ask my old professors whom I haven't spoken to for months to be my reference, I would just like want an honest opinion.

Btw I know a first is not subpar, what I mean is that SOAS has a different system when it comes to classification with grades. Thus, at any other Uni I would have gotten a 2.1 as my final grade would be 69.97% (I am not sure if it would be rounded up).  I guess I am worried about not having a strong first, thus, I should not consider applying to an LLM course at Cambridge.

 Breakdown of grades
First Year
55, 61, 67, 68.
Second Year
74, 72, 72, 69, 61, 58. = 67.63%
Third Year
76, 76, 72, 72, 71, 70, 69. = 72.45%

I would appreciate hearing anecdotes about people's experience of applying to an LLM at Cambridge with regard to their grades.

I think academics are a pretty important part of the application but I'm hoping the selection committee considers other experiences too. Good luck!
