However, this doesn't add up with the application process from the previous years (if you look at the Cambridge LLM-group from last year or the year before that). Even though I would hope so, I don't think we are so lucky to get a respons before late February to mid March.

Does anyone know what each stage of consideration focuses on? What do the departments assess compared to the Degree Committee compared to the Board of Graduate Studies?

I also got Under Consideration by Degree Committee!! According to that flow chart, they can still decline our applications, so lets hope for the best!!

This is correct, last year many people made it to the under consideration by the degree committee stage who did not receive offers. In fact, I've never heard of any LLM applicant not making it to this stage.

Don't be disheartened - you still have a very good chance at being admitted! It might just take longer to get a decision.

The faculty have probably just prioritised a number of applications that (1) they really like or (2) are from specific geographical regions, so that they can compete at a university level for funding such as the gates

I'm from the UK so Gates funding is out for me. Do they sometimes consider Gates applicants first?

I read that last year they considered foreign applicants first! But I don't know if this is true or if they are doing the same thing this year.
Anyway, I don't think you're out! Last year some people were under consideration by DC since december, while others were under consideration by department until late january, when their status finally changed.
