For those of us still in the purgatory of #ForeverDC, I have a question: did you submit your applications early or late prior to the deadline? One theory on the decisions process earlier in the thread mused that it could be related to when we applied.
In my case, I submitted my application the day before the deadline (if I recall), so it was late. Could this explain why I am still #ForeverDC? Is it a case of first-come-first-serve?

Not leaving you.
It is so frustrating to think about having to wait for a weekend (two more unproductive days probably) and only then to know about an unsuccessful outcome... I counted on this week.

And so yet another theory to try and make sense of it all bites the dust......thanks!
I'm so sorry you've had to wait for such a long time!!

Hi guys! Bit new here, so sorry if this has been discussed before:
If your application is sent to BoGS, does this mean that you'd get an offer letter for sure? Or is there still a slight chance of rejection?

I submitted mine on the 14th of November, the day before the deadline as well, though I have no clue whether this explains anything or not.

It is what it is. I wanted to get it in and done with ASAP. Had a day off and wrote everything for all my applications and got them in early. I knew it would be a long wait. Although now it's becoming infuriating!

Based upon the fact that bsd handed his/her application in as far back as September, I'm now strongly inclined to think that it isn't significant in anyway. Can't blame a guy for trying though. The process is inscrutable to me.

Haha, his. Although gendered pronouns are stupid. I prefer the Chinese system, where it's the same pronoun regardless of gender (although western influence has now led to the development of different characters for male and female pronouns). But I digress. What do I want for lunch? I want all the calories. I think I'm losing my mind waiting.

I submitted mine on the deadline and here I am stuck at the UCDC land.

I really do wish they used gender symbols on this forum. I'm always edgy about accidentally offending someone by calling them by the wrong gender!
(For the record, I'm male as well!)

Hmm. Had BSD not revealed to us that he applied as far back as September, I'd have thought that we might have actually been onto something here given how many of us applied on the last day. But his membership of #TeamForeverDC would seem to preclude this from being a viable possibility.
All I know is that with this coming Monday being the 13th and the fact that all offers are supposed to be given out by the 15th, they aren't half taking this close to the wire.

Nah I don't think it's on a rolling basis, or else it's pretty unfair unless they tell us in advance...

I think we should make a different thread for all of us who are #ForeverDC haha
You're really lucky, I believe Scotland is one of the most beautiful places of the world. I'm so happy for you that you have your situation arranged, even when you have not get a response from Cambridge yet, which means there is still hope for you.
I am currently working in a very big regional firm from South America, with one of its offices in Uruguay, I am really happy here and they want me to come back, so I would say there is a high probability of me returning to my country. However, I am open to new possibilities if they are for improvement or new experiences.
Keep your fingers crossed!
Best,
pink
Pink,
Thank you!
I agree, it is a beautiful country - although rather wet, as I'm sure you will know (its raining as I speak here). I'm guessing it must be a lot warmer and sunnier over in Uruguay, I've always wanted to visit South America. Would be a weather and culture shock for me, I think!
And your current job sounds great, how fantastic that they want you to come back and work for them again! It must be good to know that you have that kind of career security, should you decide to return home.
You can take a trip up to Scotland when your in London. The train journey is only about four hours from Euston station to Glasgow or Edinburgh Waverley, one hour by plane. I use the train frequently and will do so when I'm down there.
I'm still #ForeverDC I'm afraid. There's about one hour left for this to change before I'm in for yet another "long-haul" wait of a weekend.
BTW if you find any good, affordable accommodation in London, please let me know! (I'd be happy to do likewise, as I'm looking at the moment!) If you don't mind me asking (and this is wildly off-topic), are you thinking about halls of residence or private?
All the best,
Vari

Have anyone got an offer yet or it is just that the application has moved to the next stage? Also wondering if anyone has heard anything from the Gates Cambridge Trust?
