Application unsuccessful. I was expecting it anyways, seems like I'll go to Geneva then (which I believe was the best option anyways, taking into account my personal and professional projects :D).
Good luck to my fellow #ForeverDC applicants, fingers crossed to all of you. And for those who have been BOGSed, congratulations, I hope your application will be fruitful! And those who have been rejected as well, I hope you will thrive wherever you may go.
Best wishes to everyone! :)

Hey, Geneva is a great option, especially if you want a specialized LLM program.

Has anyone an understanding of this application system? Implies UCDC that they haven't made up their mind yet or that they simply lag behind putting the information into the system?

Thank you! It is lovely to find support here! I must admit that instead of feeling bad because of the rejection, I am relieved that I am finally free to start arranging my life for the following year, at last!
I hope you are able to get into Cambridge, if not, all of us who follow the same luck can make a group of #ForeverDC in London haha
At least you have arranged the fees' matter. Do they cover the fees for either Cambridge or BPP? And which country are you from? If you don't mind me asking
Hello again,
A #ForeverDC group in London? I'm in! After this agonizing wait, I think I'll be in recovery for a good long while.
I'm from 'bonny' Scotland, UK and really looking forward to moving to London (either this year, which is by far the most likely, or the following one if I were to go to Cambridge).
The firm definitely covers the fees for BPP as part of the contract I signed but may, in addition, cover at least some of the cost for the LLM, provided that the subjects I choose are relevant for and conducive to my career with them. I heard from an associate already working for the firm that they sometimes provide funding for courses related to the practice areas a future trainee intends to specialise in but I'm not absolutely certain of this or banking on it in anyway.
I haven't asked them directly about this since (a) I'm probably not going to get an offer from Cambridge so won't have to consider this as a possibility in the first place and (b) I would never actually ask them about it myself but would wait to see if they said anything in that regard were I to actually do the LLM first (an eventuality I view as unlikely). So on that score, I'm not certain.
If you don't mind me asking, what are you intending to do post-graduation? Are you hoping to return to Uruguay to work in a law firm there?
All the best,
Vari
I think we should make a different thread for all of us who are #ForeverDC haha
You're really lucky, I believe Scotland is one of the most beautiful places of the world. I'm so happy for you that you have your situation arranged, even when you have not get a response from Cambridge yet, which means there is still hope for you.
I am currently working in a very big regional firm from South America, with one of its offices in Uruguay, I am really happy here and they want me to come back, so I would say there is a high probability of me returning to my country. However, I am open to new possibilities if they are for improvement or new experiences.
Keep your fingers crossed!
Best,
pink

I'm so sorry to hear this! But on the bright side, you have an excellent back up plan (however, I would say that the Geneva Academy is not a back up plan, but a magnificent choice itself!).
I wish you the best there, I am sure you will thrive!

It looks like today is rejection day, so sad..

Sorry to hear that from those who were unsuccessful.
I'm still #ForeverDC(15). Do we think there will be more updates today, or does this mean I'm in for another long weekend?

I've gained 10kgs waiting, scrapped my healthy eating and just sit with a tub of nutella and hot chocolate trawling through years of cam threads miserably. 5pm actually offers relief because I stop checking!!!
Just let us know!!

I planned to do something on my dissertation to shift my attention, but in fact I end up running 5kms around the school for half an hour. Released.

Pink,
Thank you!
I agree, it is a beautiful country - although rather wet, as I'm sure you will know (its raining as I speak here). I'm guessing it must be a lot warmer and sunnier over in Uruguay, I've always wanted to visit South America. Would be a weather and culture shock for me, I think!
And your current job sounds great, how fantastic that they want you to come back and work for them again! It must be good to know that you have that kind of career security, should you decide to return home.
You can take a trip up to Scotland when your in London. The train journey is only about four hours from Euston station to Glasgow or Edinburgh Waverley, one hour by plane. I use the train frequently and will do so when I'm down there.
I'm still #ForeverDC I'm afraid. There's about one hour left for this to change before I'm in for yet another "long-haul" wait of a weekend.
BTW if you find any good, affordable accommodation in London, please let me know! (I'd be happy to do likewise, as I'm looking at the moment!) If you don't mind me asking (and this is wildly off-topic), are you thinking about halls of residence or private?
All the best,
Vari

Out of curiosity but did anyone reading this thread get to BoGS today?
It seems like everyone who heard back from Camsis within the last couple of hours has received a rejection, at least going by the posters on here. I count 4 thus far, not including the people who heard back yesterday.
It would appear to be a day of mass rejections whereas previous days witnessed only BoGS or both. Hmm.
