I was wondering if some one here know the difference between
"Application awaiting approval by BGS" and "Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate Studies".

I applied both the PhD and the LLM and so far those are my status respectively.

My status updated today to 'conditional offer made - seeking college membership' but I have not received an official mail.

Anyone else who can shed light on this?

No. Everyone does not go through it. I was told by the GAO that they changed it to 'Awaiting Approval' because the instruction from the department was unclear and they are awaiting a response. It takes a longer time after 'Awaiting approval' than 'Awaiting decision' because I think it's kind of put to one side! :(

Still haven't received an email from them.. It's almost two weeks since my status changed. Don't know why there is such a delay.

I actually phoned the graduate office just there and they informed me I will receive an e-mail tomorrow! Hopefully it's the same for all applicants admitted thus far.

Just as an update from a few hours ago, I have now been changed to 'Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate Studies' - From my gander through this thread and past threads, it's seen as a positive sign but I am still waiting with bated breath until its an official offer - Wishing everyone the best of luck as well!
