Hi everyone
Does anyone have any idea when we will begin to receive notification of whether we have been admitted. The website says March, but friends of mine (in previous years) received notification much earlier. Does anyone know whether funding decisions are made at the same time?
Further, to what exent does capacity to pay become a factor in determining whether to admit someone (I suppose they say that it doesn't, but I am not convinced). Do they simply take it at face value when you say that should you get admitted (and not receive a scholarship) you will be able to afford topay your way?
THanks

1) you might hear earlier than March, but might not hear until later, depending on where you are ranked
2) funding decisions are separate from the admissions process - you might not find out about funding until the summer, depending on what you have applied for
3) there will be a financial condition attached to your offer - you will have to give an undertaking that you are able to pay for your course together with relevant materials to provide evidence of available funds - I'm not sure how much probing they do beyond this
4) I doubt that means tests have any relevance to admission - the admissions decisions are made in advance of many of the funding decisions - but you will (obviously) have to have sufficient means if you are going to take up your place
