Cambridge LL.M. Applicants 2024-2025

Creed Brat...

I thought applications would be considered in the alphabetical order of our surnames, atleast according to last year’s thread. Mine begins with R, so is it a good thing or a bad thing?!

That’s great, all the best! 1f600

I noticed the status of mine changed about a week ago and my last name is very early in the alphabet, so that would make sense!

It seems like the first stage of applicants were notified around March as I recall. I’ve also check with the school on this as I’ve been accepted by Edinburgh but the deposit is due in January so I’m trying to figure out how to work that timeline until I hear back from Cambridge and others without losing my spot. I’ll let you know when the faculty answer.

I've also applied to Cambridge and Edinburgh, and received an offer from the latter. I'll DM you about the timeline conundrum!

I don't see any application status section on the portal, bit of a dumb question and I'm guessing I'm missing the obvious, but where is the status shown?

It's on the homepage after you log in the application portal. I don't see it after I log in for some reason, so I have to click on "application" on the left menu to reload the page correctly.

I see that someone has updated that they have received an acceptance from Cambridge in December on the app tracker. Any one else who has received any news?

Are you sure it was an acceptance already? I never heard of such news that early (I think last year the first acceptances where reported late Feb/ beginning of March)

I think it sounds like you're humble bragging, which is not a good look.

Just wait for the results like all of us ... We are not the admissions office.

Hi everyone.  My status just changed to under review by department.  My application was complete, with recommendations submitted, by mid-November.  I wish everyone good luck.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that my application status already changed in late decemb and my last name falls at the end of the alphabet, so I am not quite sure they do it in alphabetical order but of course I don’t know it either. :) Wish you all the best of luck!

My status was also changed to under review by department recently.
Question: do they calculate your GPA if your transcipt only shows individual grades and not GPA? What if your GPA is shown on your CV? Would they still calculate it? (I am little bit worried they calculate it differently than usual in my country)

I was wondering, did we always have a USN number or is that something new? Does everyone get one?

Guys - just one question:

While I have only applied for the MCL program, I think it might be the same at the LLM: I just noticed that when downloading the application from the application portal, the personal statement I entered into the input field ("Core - reasons for applying") has been completely re- or unformatted - all paragraphs (ie spaces between paragraphs) have been removed, and the text is just a entire 1 giant block which is very hard to read. I hope the department gets a better version to read.

Is that just a problem I have, or do you also have similar problems?

Hey Andi! I had the same problem, the whole text was one block. I was very upset but couldn’t do anything about it. (it was the LLM programme though)

The text box in the application form automatically eliminates all spaces between paragraphs. This issue occurred to me as well, and according to discussions from previous years, it seems to be a common problem for everyone. It's quite unfortunate, especially since we often sacrifice character count to arrange our text more clearly. I suppose the reviewers are accustomed to reading bricks of text!

Perhaps someone has experience with this. Does anyone know if it's possible to submit 1f62atranscripts after submitted the application? I accidentally uploaded the wrong document, which I just now realize. Now the transcript is missing and when I try to contact the department, I receive no response. Is it a lost cause?
