cambridge diploma in international law

Huck Finn

Hi,
i'm currently doing an LLM in international law at Edinburgh; once I finish I'm planning on working for a few years but am already thinking about further study. I'm considering a phd but think it might be take too long and frankly I don't know if I've got it in me. I'd quite fancy spending a year at Cambridge doing the diploma in international law, but is it worth anything besides getting Cambridge on your CV? Could it be a way into academia or would I need a phd for that?

thanks

I'd also be grateful for people's impressions of the Diploma programme. My understanding is that it could serve as a bridge to the PhD, and the Diploma year can count towards the 3-year PhD. But I have no idea how realistic it is to be admitted to the PhD once in the Diploma programme.
