Mine also says "Papers with Degree Committee." I got my offer email on 6 Jan. Ms Wade says that my papers are with the BOGS but my Camsis has not been updated.

my camsis got updated today, confirming the offer; you can then view the conditions, and the brochure explaining the offer, and even accept/decline the offer

I am hoping to get King's, but I saw on the Cambridge Graduate Union Forum that they were already rejecting people back in February. Doesn't seem very realistic to hope for a place there.

It seems like an odd system. For some of us, it has take ages to get BGS confirmation even though the offer was in the first batch. Then the first choice college might take ages to decide. and by then you're unlikely to get second choice. but not really your fault.
i suppose they think it doesn't matter because college isn't that important which is fair enough i suppose.
but it seems a bit of a waste of time to spend ages choosing.

do you think they choose mainly on whether they have space left or mainly on merit??

I thought of the same as I did receive the email much later than you from Ms Wade. I noticed that BGS only updates the Camsis after they issue the letter of offer officially (mine according to the certificate is on 20 April, but I havent receive it yet). Only then will they forward the file to the colleges. Have your Camsis been updated yet?

As for colleges, as much as I would love to secure one at King's or St John, it boils down to the issue whether the chances of getting an acceptance from the said colleges are good or otherwise. If you could still recall the prospectus, they gave an indication through the categories (A to C). I chose mainly those in C, where the chances are more realistic as the colleges are newer.. I have been given a once in a lifetime chance by my Department to go for LLM at Cambridge this year. I dont want to let go of this opportunity just because I fail to secure a college accommodation..

Hey, has anyone around here received an "admission number"? The Offer Booklet says that it should be printed in the top left corner of every letter you send to the BGS.
However, I have only received an "application number" and a "student number" so far.
Does anybody know whether there is a difference or has anybody received a separate "admission number"?

Thanks,
Dutchman

Hey Dutchman! I don't have an 'admission number' yet either. However, I haven't received the offer letter yet so I don't know if maybe the admission number is printed on said letter. There's a sponsorship-something number on the certificate we can print from camsis, but i don't know if that's it.

Thanks, everhopeful! Could anybody who has already received the official letter by mail tell us whether you get an extra "application number" which is different from the usual admission number?

Heya Dutchman,

I have my official letter.

There is no admission number. I can only see a personal number and an application number.

But then again, my offer is only conditional as I am still in my final undergraduate year. So it may differ from those who have unconditional offers.

p.s Does anyone know what a sponsor license number is?

As far as I am aware, there are no unconditional offers (given the fact that being able to pay for your LLM and getting a college place are conditions).
I'd think that the application number automatically becomes an admission number once we're officially admitted.

No idea what a sponsor licence number is. They love their numbers at Cambridge.
