Working During LLM?

llm-ette

Anyone have insight on what LLM workload is typically like and whether working part-time (10-12 hours/ week) is doable? I want to do really well in the program, but I don't want to kill myself trying to work and keep up with studies.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Take into account that:

1. A lot of LLM students are foreigners, some of them are still struggling to cope with the language.
2. A lot of students are from civil law countries, having a completely different legal background.

So, if you are able to study in your mother tongue and even in your familiar legal system, you should be easily able to manage the LLM whilst workin part time. At least for most programs, with a high intakes from all over the world.

Hi! this August I will attend an LLM at Berkeley and I am offered a part-time internship in S. Francisco starting from the same period, so I am wondering how to cope with visa restrictions.
I am aware that some llm student are working off-campus in law during their LLM and I would like to know how to do the same.
Has anyone got any suggestion? like which kind of visa, qualification/type of the activity I am going to do etc.?

Many thanks

You may want to clarify with the organization as to your visa arrangements. I'm sure they dealt with the same issue before.
