Suggest LLM for Financial Regulation

Nidex

Hello,

I work in a law firm that is going to be growing its financial regulation practice in the future. I have been asked to do an LLM in this field to help grow the practice. I don't know which one to do.

This is my shortlist:

Georgetown
UCLA
Washington College of Law
Fordham
George Washington

I am leaning towards Fordham because I would rather be in NYC than DC or LA.

Anybody have any insights about these or can suggest others?

chicken so...

All good schools. Fordham has two related programs, an LLM in Corporate Compliance and one in Banking, Corporate, and Finance Law.

For a lot of people, the DC-based programs are great because they put you near the big regulatory agencies like the SEC. Good for networking.

Although being in NYC puts you in range of the NY Fed and Wall Street...

This is good advice, and similar to what I have read elsewhere. I'm starting to wonder about the value of offering this kind of LLM at a school like UCLA.

Maybe because of the school's research strength in the area? UCLA's Lowell Milken Institute hosts a lot of relevant faculty and publishes in this field.
