Hi gsj,
Most of my friends who pursued an LLM from Uk are back to India.I am told obtaining a work permit for foreign lawyers is quite tough. However having said that , I must also mention that certain UK law firms have hit the NLS bang campus. So u must progress with ur research on those lines.
By the way in ur opinion y an LLM from Inida?unless it is for academic purposes?

Hi Lawyer,
If you are from UK you are wasting your time in India. The National law School of India probably being the only eception.

hi there
u got 2 options if u want to practice in the uk. one is qualifying a Solicitor by doing Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test. if u have 2 years of practice experience as an Advocate in india you can apply to the law society, uk for the eligibility certificate. 2nd one is registering as foreign lawyer with law society,uk. chk this link for QLTT:http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/becomingasolicitor/outsideengandwales/transfertest.law

Hi! They have Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test, that will qualify you as a Solicitor but does not in any way ensure a smooth transition to a Law Firm. Basically, you may want to try to get into a small firm & from there go your way up.
