Hello everyone,
can anybody help me how to get informations about Master of Law programms in Turkey, particularly in Ankara, izmir and istanbul.
On this homepage i have only found the information that a LLM programm is possible at the istanbul Bilgi University.
Maybe there are more Universities in Turkey who give the chance to make this postgraduate examination.
Also I am interested in bachelor of Law where I unfortunately doesn`t found any information tooI.
I thanks for every support,

hi alka,
I am studying law @ Istanbul University... I think i can help you.
I am very new about LLM but let me translate some information about Istanbul Bilgi University.
I think that, yes you could be a graduate student for law @ Istanbul Bilgi University... But i won't recommend that university for master.
And also it's 7.757 Euros for 4 years master... You can pay about 680 euros monthly.
Please let me know if you have more questions
regards.

Hi Murat,
I am not really sure if Istanbul Bilgi University is the only one faculty where I can take on my LLM.
But I guess that you mean an another programm for law students.
That one which I want to study will take only one year.
Yes, as far as I know the aim of the Master of Law is to learn firstly the turkish law in their main features and at the end of the year I will participate at the exams to get my graduate exam.
i don`t want study turkish law. Because of that LLM isn`t for 4 years.
But one question why do you won`t recommend the Bilgi university for foreign students?
Thank you for your email
regards Ferhan

Alka,
Oh i see...
Main thing is not to recommend Bilgi University to you is Turkey =)
I mean, our country has only a few well-educated schools. And also about law, Ankara University, Galatasaray University(the best) and Istanbul University is great.
If you are a student @ Bilgi University you can say,
"I am studying in Bilgi University, but i have no university "
Istanbul Bilgi University is not goverment's school.Turkey's rich families children are going there... There won't improve your vision and perspective.
Please let me know, if you have more questions about universities in Turkey.

Hello,
I do not agree all comments above about Istanbul Bilgi University. The comments above are not serious and unfortunately they look like comments of supporters of a football team; as "my university is the best; the other is not."
First of all, I should indicate that I am not a graduate of Istanbul BILGI University. However, I closely know that they have a very high qualified education. Both their undergraduate and graduate programmes are very successfull. Their faculty of law is currently one of the leading law schools in Turkey. Consequently, if you see leading law firms, including those working in the field of international law, most of all recently recruited lawyers are those graduated from Bilgi University. (I know this since I am working with very well educated colleagues from Bilgi.)
About its LL.M programme, as a lawyer I closely know that their LL.M students are mostly best young lawyers of the country. You can find many corporate lawyers of leading law firms doing LL.M in Bilgi University.
I would highly recommend this LL.M programme. However, it is only tought in Turkish; except some elective courses in English.
As a person who has graduated from Istanbul University, I just want to mention that, unfortunately it is not currently "great" as claimed above...
I wanted to note this comment just to prevent an injustice discussion.

I am a senior - Law student at Istanbul Bilgi University. I had full scholarship from OSYM and I pay nothing to school. But that doesn't make me genius or something. Real life is not limited by the point you get in 3 hours' examination.First of all, you have to admit that. And as you can see, these Master programmes of Istanbul Bilgi University are the most popular programmes, because they have the best professors and advocates all around the Turkey, especially from the collage itself. And ofcourse there is an elimination, not everybody can attend this programme, you have to be talented and you can check the website out for the other qualifications.
If the point is the tutition fee of the programme, you can apply for scholarship. If you are good enough, you can study without paying any money. If you are not good enough, there is nothing i can do. Also, the equal law schools to Bilgi in Europe like Maasricht, Utrecht, Leiden, Bucerius, Fribourg.. etc want more money than Bilgi, particulary if you remember that the currency in Europe in Euro, which makes living there much more expensive, you can realize that the tutition is not that high.
And also, with the point i got from the exam of OSYM, (the exam is just like Baccalaureate) , I would have attend any other state university but i chose Bilgi, and i can say that my collage made my vision enlarge very much.
If you have any questions, i will be pleased to answer.

I don't agree with muratonur's comments, they are really subjective. Even I'm not student of Bilgi University but I can't deny the fact that it's one of the best law faculties in Turkey. To be financed by government does never make a university better than others. Academic and scientific advance should be the point.

I truly believe that graduate programmes of Bilgi University and Galatasaray University are more suitable for a foreign student who would like to pursue an LLM degree in Turkey.

merhaba,
