Hi,
Hoping this is the correct place for such a query. I'm currently coming to the end of my second year at a UK Russell Group uni, so after this I have one year of my LLB left. I achieved a 2:1 last year and this year so far have received a mix of 2:1s/1st.
I'll try and keep this as succinct as possible - I'm looking to apply to LLM programmes but have no idea how to go about it or whether it would even be possible to do so. I am open to applying to of course UK universities but also universities abroad. Neither of my parents finished school let alone attended university, and all of my extended family have only done undergrad degrees, so I don't know where to begin.
Which leads me to my primary question: how likely is it that I would be able to get either a full or partial scholarship? I'm from a low income household (roughly £26k p/a) and there's no way my parents would be able to financially support me at all. I have some savings and of course would work part time but without a scholarship would not be able to undertake an LLM.
Secondly, when does the process of applying for LLM courses in the UK begin? E.g. September/October or later in my final year of undergrad?
I'm willing to provide more info if needed or discuss over email. To be honest I feel a bit silly asking questions which I imagine may be obvious but seeing as my university, and my extension the careers service, is closed due to everything going on, I'm not sure where else to pose my questions.
Thanks :) Niomi
