Hello everyone
I have a question with respect to writing sample for BCL. I have a long published article in a reputed journal. However, the article is quite long. Hence, I took an extract of the same. However, the extract in itself does not present the complete argument (though I have mentioned the citation of the original article along with a short summary of the same).
I am aware that the website allows an extract of a published article to be submitted. However, I have heard from some people that it is advisable to write separately. I was wondering if it is advisable to write a 2000 words essay separately for BCL application?
Kindly let me know. It's urgent!
Thank you

Don´t overthink it. I am quite sure that they won't put super much effort into reading the articles in great detail. Personally, I approached it (for the MJur) the way you originally planned to: I took an extract of a longer, published article and sent it in.
